I was one of the lucky few students who was able to get the student package which includes the Duke game. They also sold out in like 20 minutes.

I got the email regarding basketball tickets and I deleted it because OSU basketball doesn't matter.

Apparently there's a waitlist now that will give students tickets in the terrace section.

Was that intended to troll me? If so, I wouldn't consider a half-assed attempt like that to be a quality troll.

Not trolling, just preaching the truth. OSU is a football school.

Nice man you keeping it? ;).

But I will agree with dlazz OSU basketball really isnt that big of a deal and don't students also get terrible seating?

If courtside is terrible, then yes, they do!

The courtside seats were amazing. My friends and I sat first or second row behind the opposing bench basically every home game last year, and it was truly a great experience. One of my major peeves, though, is the lack of enthusiasm from the student section in general. Even though some go absolutely crazy, there are people two/three rows back that basically stand there the whole game and only really cheer occasionally. I consider myself lucky to have obtained one of the student-ticket packages Saturday morning, and I'm real pumped for the season.

I will say that Ohio State is definitely a football school, first and foremost, but basketball is definitely up and coming. However, I think that this recent surge in demand for the student tickets is a combination of the team's potential and the football team's off-year. I don't think last year was all that bad in getting tickets, as I really didn't have any friends who were bummed not to have gotten tickets, and the team was predicted to do very well last year. I only hope that this spike remains high, but we'll see.

Ah I must have been thinking wrong haha. I didn't know they got courtside seats that is pretty awesome. For some reason I thought the Alumni got the good seats.

The students used to get shitty seats but they rearranged things in the last couple of years.

they used to get seats behind both hoops on the floor and then I think some tickets were up in the rafters. This past year they cut down on the total # of student tickets but gave students the first few rows right behind the benches and behind one of the hoops. It definitely added to the atmosphere of the Schott. Hopefully the students make that place a more intimidating place for opposing teams, although the Buckeyes traditionally have done very well at home since they built the new arena even with the students being a non-factor.

Aaron Craft makes no excuses. He didn't take chemistry as seriously as he should have.

He received a B-plus last fall.

It was the first time he had ever received anything of the non-A variety in school.

    Ever.

Craft has a 3.86 GPA and is looking to become the first Ohio State Academic All-American since way back in 1968 (Bill Hoskett).

Let's face it: There aren't many holes when it comes to Craft.

He's a big-time student who wants to major in pre-med, he's a terrific, unselfish point guard who is also a big-time defender and Thad Matta calls him the toughest kid he's ever coached.

"I think Coach was just being nice," Craft said of Matta's compliment.

But Ohio State video coordinator Greg Paulus, the former Duke point guard and Syracuse quarterback, also said Craft's work ethic is up there with anyone else he's seen.

"His commitment is up there with anyone I've ever played with," Paulus said.

Craft even recently - just for the heck of it - decided to observe the team doctor while he performed a shoulder scope and also an ACL surgery.

He said he was fine for the first half of the procedure, but then got woozy and had to leave the room as the doctor was pulling out a tendon.

"I got light-headed," Craft laughed. "I had to sit down and walk out of the room."

Then Craft returned to see the second tendon removed.

On the court, Craft knows he'll need to step up this season with the departure of Jon Diebler and David Lighty - especially in the leadership department. He also doesn't want defenders to go underneath screens, a sign of disrespecting his perimeter shot.

"Guys played off me," Craft admitted. "It'll help us as a team if they aren't able to do that this year."

He might be the best QB on campus as well.

So, from what I was able to gather from the article posted above, Craft's newest defensive technique may or may not involve a scalpel and the removal of his man's tendons. This would compliment his brand of I'll-just-foul-you defense very nicely, I think.

And it is a sad day to see Greg Paulus talking that way. :(
