jordo212000Boston College's AD is insinuating that ESPN helped lead to the mass exodus of schools out of the Big East. Apparently the Big East turned ESPN down for a new television deal and ESPN didn't take it too lightly.
He also said this about basketball and it's place in expansion/realignment: "You don't get extra money for basketball. It's 85 percent football money..."

Cool. This has kind of taken over as the realignment thread. Just sharing the thoughts of one of the guys behind the scenes. -
like_thatJordo is such a douche. First he ran away from answering why Boise would be a good addition, and now he is trying to rehash an argument that has gone nowhere before, even though nobody was talking about it. SMH.

lol. How am I trying to rehash that Boise argument? Somebody else said they were in play and I suggested I wasn't surprised. My next post had zero to do with them. It was an article that was posted TODAY. I posted some of the key points from BC's AD.like_that;929260 wrote:Jordo is such a douche. I've already said that I am done discussing sports with S&L. He's unreasonable, and he's wrong more often than not. If he doesn't know why Boise wouldn't be attractive for the Big East / Big 12, then he's hopeless. There are plenty of reasons for them to get an invite. But there are also alot of reasons why they wouldn't get an invite. There are no more Nebraskas on the table. Everybody left has warts. Boise isn't perfect, but they make a lot of sense. Especially for the Big East who is trying to hang on to AQ status. Getting Boise will replace the sting of TCU and Pitt's departure. The Big East is trying to stay relevant.
And yes, if you look at this thread and the other thread, plenty of people are talking about realignment? Today there were 14 posts alone inside of this thread. I have no idea what you mean by that? -

You're telling me, that the Big East (a dying conference) going after Boise proves that Boise is attractive? A dying conference making a desperate effort to keep it's qualifying status does not make that team attractive LOL how awful of an argument is that?!
And you keep saying "If he doesn't know why Boise is attractive then..." yet YOU NEVER ACTUALLY SAY WHY. (just a little heads up..I don't necessarily disagree that Boise is semi-attractive...I just want you to explain why. Because for every reason why you kept saying Kansas is unattractive, those reasons exist for Boise...and if you say that, you know i'll call you out on the contradiction.) -

Little DannyUCF could be getting a Big East invite very soon. I also would not be surprised to see Temple getting one as well. UCF-USF would be a pretty strong rivalry for the conference.

I don't think so and I don't think you were ridiculed (having a difference in opinion doesn't mean you're being ridiculed). You said the Big XII "needs" TCU. I said that would only be if they need a warm body to keep the league from dying. Well, they pretty much needed a warm body to keep the league from dying. The Big XII looks like crap for having to compromise itself on these teams they'd have never given a second thought to for the last 15 years. TCU was a desperation pick up, nothing more.El Jefe Grande;929527 wrote:You underestimated my knowledge.
The other difference in our opinions has yet to play out. I say they're bound to be middle-of-the-pack to bottom dwellers within the next few years. Basically, they aren't going to come near the success they've had since bouncing around from second tier conference to second tier conference. I took your statements to mean you think TCU is going to compete with Oklahoma and Texas, etc., year-in and year-out. Let me know if I'm wrong, but we're going to have to wait and see on that one. -

Glad to see that you finally joined the party. -
like_thatSo, are you going to respond to S&L regarding his question about Boise St, or are you going backpedal and keep trying to change the subject? Typical turdo tactic. He will probably bring up the NBA or MLB to try to prove his point.
Edit: BTW I am still waiting to see how CoA or myself "run amok" in Bengals threads. I thought you were too busy, but you were going to show us when you got off work. It's been at least 5 days. Just further proof you speak out of your ass. -

We can't all sit around the house refreshing Ohio Chatter and "pwning" people. I love how you seem to know how many days it has been since I made that post. That's so sad. Just keep checking my profile so you can see which threads I post in, you might see my failsponse in one of those. I don't need to tell you that though, you already are.like_that;930229 wrote: I thought you were too busy, but you were going to show us when you got off work. It's been at least 5 days. Translation: I still have no response to the following questions, so I will continue my typical bs and change the subject.jordo212000;930288 wrote:We can't all sit around the house refreshing Ohio Chatter and "pwning" people. Also considering the fact the thread involved a game from last week, it is safe to guess that it was 5 days. I would expect anyone to be able to do that type of math, however you did go to Marietta after all. Also lol at trying to act lik you have a life, and make it seem like all I do is memorize threads and arguments in threads, while you are "too busy" at your entry level job. That's why you brought up the "small market baseball" argument a few weeks ago, after we didn't even discuss it for a whole baseball season. Nice contradiction fail moron. I would love to hear your spin and excuse on that, because we all know you are full of those jokes.
I am still waiting for your reach on how CoA and I ran amok in Bengals threads, and S&L is still waiting for his response on Boise. Please respond with something completely off topic again. It is a great way of making yourself seem more of a douche bag. It is always good for the lulz. -

spot on. i think oklahoma drove the bus on the tcu invitation probably because of their desire to play an additional game in the dfw metroplex. hell, as we speak, the sooners are probably trying to set up an annual game with tcu at jerryworld.enigmaax;929842 wrote:I don't think so and I don't think you were ridiculed (having a difference in opinion doesn't mean you're being ridiculed). but the big 12 really screwed the pooch years ago by not having equal revenue sharing and letting texas do whatever the hell they wanted. going from elite level universities in a&m, nebraska and colorado to tcu, maybe byu and a mediocre university to be named later is terrible. just bad foresight all around -
