Pablo Escobar did a lot of good for his community too, doesn't change the fact he was a poor excuse for a human being.
Monus embezzled 10 million dollars, swindled investors out of hundreds of millions, and a a small part of that he used to pay a college athlete. Tressel went out of his way to build a connection between said athlete and Monus. These are the facts, and they show, at best, a lack of judgement from JT. You stating you know more about the situation than anyone else, and that everyone other than yourself has been swindled by the media, is nothing more than grasping at straws. -

Now you're the one grasping at straws with your last statement. The facts are there. Monus employed 10+ YSU players well within the extent of both the law and the NCAA rule book. At what point would Tressel have any reason to believe that Isaac's employment was any different? Isaac has gone on record saying that Tressel knew nothing of the illegal payments he was receiving.
So what are you trying to say again? -

At the least: Tressel executed extremely poor judgement in trying to build a connection between his players and an unsavory businessman. At the worst, he knew of what was going on with the previous 10 players who were employed, and Monus was simply the only one to be caught due to him being the only one involved in the jury tampering scandal.
I don't know which it is. But the Tat-5 situation was not the first time Tressel showed poor judgement. If you buy into the idea that he was simply scared of leaking an FBI report, than there's nothing I can do to convince you otherwise. But when you add up his years at YSU. the fact that he forwarded said e-mails to one of Pryor's "mentors"(a fact he lied about when the story first broke) it becomes difficult to perceive such an opinion as anything more than wishful thinking.
JT's gone forever, and OSU looks better in the public eye because of it. Pryor didn't "do him in," his behavior did. Move on. -

I'm pretty sure I stated that multiple times on this thread.
I don't have a problem with Tressel's dismissal. But I have a problem with people like you spewing off on unfounded claims about what happened at YSU when you have no working knowledge of what really happened. Have a problem with me stating that I know more than you do about the situation? Get over it. I can't help it that I'm from Youngstown, my family had a working relationship with both Mickey Monus from a business perspective and Jim Tressel from a booster perspective. Tressel committed no faults at Youngstown, so if you want to talk about his "shaky morals" then you need to talk about what happened at Ohio State, not Youngstown State. -

and it all starts to make sense... -

You just don't get it do you.
There is no factual basis that any wrongdoing went on at YSU that Jim Tressel knew about (or else he would have been sanctioned like Cochran and Malmisur were), yet you still contend that there was? And yet you're implying I'm the non-credible one? HA -
