ESPN The Worldwide Leader in Selectively Vacating Wins

So if I go on new Jerseys DMV website..and I'm trying to get a Jersey license and need to know What I need to bring to the DMV..and they don't list 25 dollars on their website...you're okay with that information being left off their website because most people in NJ know that you'll need 25 dollars?

That could effect you financially and cause a hassle. How the fuck do wins being vacated from a website effect you at all? I mean its an error yes, but does it really matter in the least bit?

And if I edited my post and took out the word "exact", you and about three others on here would owe me $50.

How about this: ESPN's obvious bias, hatred for OSU, and inaccurate website isn't that big of a deal.

    But they still have:

    1) an obvious bias
    2) hatred for OSU, and
    3) an inaccurate website

ESPN doesn't just hate Ohio State, they hate the entire Big Ten (except maybe Wisconsin) they just hate OSU more lately because they have been the Kings of the hated Big Ten. And who gives a f--- what their records show, they aren't the official keepers of the records.

What if 2 people not familiar with college football have a bet and guy A bets 25 dollars USC won the PAC 10 title and when they look on the worldwide leader of.sports' website they see that is true..but really they didn't win the PAC 10 because the season was vacated...someone COULD financially lose out from this.

Highly unlikely story...and i admit it is not the best of comparisons..but hypothetically it could happen.

For the 1 billionth time...no one really cares what ESPN is showing...its the lack of consistency throughout their site that people are pointing out (notice how I said pointing out...not caring about)

Webfire & Lotz have gone all Non on this thread. Sad to lose 2 more respected(at least in my book) posters on this site.

Didn't read this whole thread but have one thought and one question. OSU fans, you are right. ESPN hates Ohio State. We agree on that. Since we know that is the case, are you guys going to: a) keep watching ESPN, but continue to try and prove the point you already know in your own mind or b) quit watching ESPN?

You're a damn fool if you think that people are just pointing it out without caring. It's very very obvious a lot of people who posted on this thread CARE, you included, no matter what you say.

If it's a big deal to you, you CLEARLY care.

SMH at saying you were merely pointing out and not caring.

Kinda funny I just posted two contradictory quotes from the same thread from you S&L

Or maybe because it's an Ohio message board and I live in Ohio. I dunno. Just sayin'.

Another Ohio DB that has probably never actually been inside The Big Outhouse but loves to wear your scUM paraphanalia to Wal Mart on Saturday mornings.

To be honest, I gave up on ESPN years ago, just based on their other biases(Yankees, Red Sox, Patriots, Knicks). I used to love getting up in the morning and watching Sportscenter, but I probably haven't watched it in 4 or 5 years. The only time I watch ESPN is for a ballgame or an E:60 episode on occasion. I prefer Fox as a sports network over ESPN.

That's the truth... I as well don't watch their talking heads anymore as it's so biased... I only turn to the channel for games. I used to have it running non-stop when I'm at home... just can't stand the BS they throw out there all the time. They have too many personalities going for the shock factor to get ratings by saying controversial things.

Don't be an idiot lhs. You're putting words into my mouth. I don't care what ESPN puts on their website. They're putting up information that is not true (USC's season), doesn't mean I care, but it still makes it a big deal. If they're going to be the worldwide leader in sports, they have to do it correctly and factually.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time in the last month you have taken something I said (this is a big deal) and turning into me saying something else (that I care). I can talk about something and not care. Sorry if you can't understand that.

Oh and you're going to make for an awful lawyer with that logic.

You're trying to spin despite the hard evidence of what you said, and I'M the idiot? Haha

You said it was a BIG DEAL. Just like that, with capitalization. It's painfully obvious you care.

When was the last time something was a BIG DEAL to you and you didn't care? Don't answer that, because you're just going to spin that as well.

Why does it matter if you care? The only people calling you out for caring are webbie and lotz. I'm only calling you out for being contradictory, not for caring.

I've been to a handful of games spanning about 15 years. I've also had relatives graduate from UM. But thanks for not asking.

No one cares about the vacated wins. We care about the bias being shown against Ohio State by posting our vacated wins, but not vacated wins of other teams. I don't understand why this is so hard to comprehend.

Fly4Fun;842870 wrote:How come that logic doesn't apply to the teams you root for?

I'm not sure how the 2 are relevant to each other. This is an Ohio message board. Not an OSU one, nor a Browns, Bengals, Cavs, Reds or Indians.

Why don't people that live closer to a non-OSU college root for them instead of the Buckeyes? I don't understand what you are getting at.

THATS IT!! You added "To you"

I never said it was a big deal to me..I said it was a big deal, period. Not to me. I'ts not like I'm losing sleep over the fact that USC's season is there and OSU's isn't. Dear God, how is that so hard to comprehend?

I stopped watching all ESPiN programming -- except for games I can't get elsewhere -- after the Alamo Bowl attacks on Ohio State, and the Outside the Lines lies that followed it.

That was when it first became clear ESPiN had a clear anti-OSU agenda...and it has carried it on to this day. I do believe it even got worse during this investigation, however, as more columnists chimed in with their rants about punishing Ohio State, even though most of them had no clue what the actual allegations were, and certainly had no clue what proof existed.

I'm pretty convinced a lot of this is because of the financial rivalry of the Big Ten Network, and the potential threat it remains especially as TV contracts come up for renewal in the years ahead. If ESPN can help hurt the image of the league's flagship program, perhaps it can hurt ratings and the ability of the BTN to show games (if OSU gets a ban, for instance).

Yes, ESPN also has a contract to show Big Ten games, but they have more money invested in the future in other areas that will be competing directly with the Big Ten (like the SEC network, Texas, etc.)

So, you can't discount the impact money and business angling no doubt plays in all the crap that ESPN has been throwing out there since the investigation first came to light.
