  Failing to look into things is part of why OSU is in the mess that they are in. It makes no sense not to at least conduct an 11 day investigation.

  Umm, I can walk into a dealership and get a car under NADA and KBB and let the dealership make an average profit of around $1k or whatever it is. The ONLY thing left to investigate would be trading memorabilia as payment. Not sure what deal the general public couldn't get?

  Still, some may wonder why the university isn't taking another look at the cars on its own. That could really clear the air. But Larry James, Pryor's former attorney, took time Tuesday to reinforce that all the cars the former OSU quarterback drove were properly accounted for. And you'd think that if Ohio State isn't looking harder, the OSU administration must have some idea the NCAA is satisfied. So this potentially damning part of the puzzle could be finished.

  Certainly makes sense. I would assume OSU is doing anything possible to please the NCAA at this point. The more time that goes by without an amendment to the NOA, the better things look for OSU. The possibility to get out of this with only a one year bowl ban is pleasing. The August 12th date can't get here soon enough.

  The OSU compliance dept should take suggestions from avowed OSU haters as to how they should conduct investigations. And then after they investigate, and don't find anything, they should make something up and punish themselves. The punishments should include, but not be limited to:
  
  1) Demolition of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center
  2) Demolition of the 'shoe
  3) Self-vacating all wins prior to 2011
  4) Admission that, had the Tat 5 not received improper benefits by selling their own personal property, Ohio State would've gone 0-12 in both 2009 and 2010
  
  Even then, the haters will still hate.

  So you don't find it a bit interesting that OSU compliance would say they will investigate when BMV is done, BMV completes investigation, and then OSU comp says "never mind, no investigation"? I just find it odd given the circumstances. I would do everything to at least make it appear we did all we could.

  I haven't read this thread but I think it was stated that the only car they didn't make a profit on was sold so low because it sat at the lot so long.

  I think they have been bending over backwards to at least make it appear to the NCAA that they're doing everything they can. Which makes me think the car stuff is done and over with. I really, really, highly doubt OSU compliance is saying, "Hey, if we don't do an investigation, maybe the NCAA won't do one either, and they'll just forget about it!"

  Disclaimer: I am not saying this happened or that anyone is guilty of anything.
  
  Just because the title and dealer records doesn't mean they didn't get a deal. There are ways for them to discount a car without the sale price of the car changing. In fact, if this really was going on, I would hope they'd be smart enough to do it with a legit paper trail.

  You could be right. And really I hope so. I think OSU will be punished enough for what was already proven. I want the rivalry to be legit, which means not cheating, but also no sanctions that take one of the other down.
