Should Ohio State re-hire Tressel?

Declan Sullivan, we will never forget.

Not even going to address the specifics on it, but Ohio State has had similar ordeals and you'd be wise to shut up. As far as Declan goes: it's a damn shame that it happened and I'm sure you are happy it did, you sick fuck. My heart goes out to the Sullivan family, as tragedies like this can never be fully apologized for.

You're right its a terrible tragedy. Maybe Domer fans should realize lying and negligently killing a kid are completely different things. The difference being, one loses there job over it and the other keeps their job and is blindly defended to death. I'll let you decide which is which, and why Notre Dame is a national joke.

Skeletons in everyone's closet. Not something to be made light of. That case was handled and the Sullivan's case is being handled by Jones' Day right now. Sad for both universities. Keep using it as a joke though-- you never fail to disappoint when it comes to showing your true tasteless colors.

Ok, I'm not agreeing with sleeper here but your analogy is incredibly weak. Random student killed in freak, random elevator accident is a little different than student manager killed in tower collapse accident when he was instructed to go up there in high winds. Not saying that wasn't an accident obviously but they are not really comparable in the context of this argument.

I don't really want to argue about deaths of two young kids, but that elevator was known to have problems. A lot of my friends now were freshmen at OSU when it happened and they all knew that the elevator had issues that should've been addressed. Like I said, unfortunate and sad in both stories.

Do you realize who is comparing the two completely different situations, retard? It's not Notre Dame fans. It's you.

Oh so if some kid runs out and get hits by a car on campus that's Tressel's fault? LOL

Please, the Domers are supporting a coach who is KNOWN for NEGLIGENTLY killing an innocent child. That is the Notre Dame I know, and that's the Notre Dame I guess they want to be known for.

    You're delusional.

Who said they were awful? You're a clown.

That's what you know him for in your fantasy world. The rest of the world has a substantial amount of respect for the man.

    Sleeper, I think you are secretly a Notre Dame fan judging from your obsession with their football team :) It's okay to admit. {Insert Sleeper typical denial defense along the lines of "Why would I ever like a 6-6 team that can't win a mediocre bowl"-- you're not fooling me tho;) }

Wow, what a great well thought out rebuttal supported with tons of arguments. At least I don't vehemently hate the university I attend.

Why? All I know BK for is skipping town when his team had to face a decent opponent, and then paying lip service to responsibility after a kid was negligently killed under his watch. There's no respect for that, well except at Notre Dame because they paid off the family to keep quiet and they took "responsibility" for it.

No, OSU should not re-hire Tressel.

JT should march back to campus, fire Gordon Gee and Gene Smith, declare the Board invalid and unnecessary, and re-hire himself.
  • HitsRus
    Should they...yes.
    Will they no.

The majority of OSU fans and board members showed that they couldn't stand the heat of this dog and pony show. Hell, the NCAA hasn't even ruled yet. All of this is self flagellatiion fueled by a media feeding frenzy over relatively minor rules violations and a screw up by the coach, who on balance is a good man. Lord knows what woul;d happen if there was something serious......the earth would open and the Horseshoe would be swallowed whole.

And the WHAC would spontaneously combust . . .

This may have been posted (didn't want to look through the whole thread) but they were discussing this on WKNR the other day. The outside analyst said if Tressel "surfaces" again it won't likely be at the D1 level. They could see him getting back to his "roots" and joining a D3 school like Baldwin-Wallace (where he graduated from and his dad coached at).

There are also ramifications for anyone who would hire him at the D1 level. What about the suspension? He'd likely have to sit that out (at least, if not more) before he could coach a new team.

laughable that someone is comparing a random accident in the dorms, to a football practice death. SMH at notre dame fans
