Remember how badly we wanted Pryor to come to OSU?

Before I go on to the rest of the my post this needs to be said. Tressel lied, he deserves to no longer have a job.

Pryor has been nothing but trouble, and now his indiscretions led to Tressel lying to cover it up which led to Tressel no longer having a job. He has been a complete headache with his stupidity making itself known to the media and he's an overall embarrassment to the program regardless of how many wins he has led us to.

I hope Fickell suspends him and the tattoo 5 for the entire season.

This would have still happened if he went somewhere else. He was just a part of the problem, not the source.

    Dumb logic.

When will you quit blaming anyone but Tressel. If Tressel lied about tattoo gate he has problaby done some shady things or he turned a blind eye to some shady things. What Tessel did has embarrass OSU.
  • Mr. 300
TP was a head case from the beginning. I called it fron the onset and took some serious heat for it, but the writing was on the wall for me early on with this kid. JT screwed up even worse though, so it really doesn't matter.

Agreed. Pryor is a 20 year old kid. This lies squarely on Tressel.

And you do realize that MANY, MANY of these stud recruits are head cases, right? Some change, some don't, some get away with it, some don't. It is what it is in this day and age of the prima donna athletes who have been brought up and been given everything, treated like a king. It is what it is and Pryor is no different than many of them. Bottom line, every coach is going to take a chance on talent. Tressel was not alone in recruiting him.

Please show me where I didn't blame Tressel for breaking rule 10.1. Good luck. Thanks.

While I agree big time recruits are more likely prima donnas than not, Pryor has done way more to embarrass his name than your typical big time recruit and if you deny that you're freaking nuts.

Clarret, Troy Smith, Perriloux, Garcia, Rose(basketball), Sydney(basketball), to name just a few off the top of my head! You been living in a cave? Wow...you seriously need to get out more. Pryor is ONE of MANY, MANY. Read the below article.

I really think we'll find out later (maybe today) why Tress was forced to resign. I think the tattoo thing was just a small part.

Don't infer that somebody MADE him do it. He lied. It is ALL on him. Don't lie, don't lose your job.

I have to agree w the original post. Pryor has not been worth the headache. Can't wait till he is gone.

You just named 6 out of how many big time recruits across football and basketball? Exactly. And what did Troy Smith do that was more embarrassing than Pryor? Accept $500 from a booster? Lolz

Did you read the article? Seriously, admit the obvious. Its in black and white. Everyone wants Urban to be next OSU coach. Look at how many players he had arrested under his watch. Its unbelievable. He let a player back on his team, who chased someone, stopped his car, got out an AK 47 riffle!! Its going on, all over the country. That is a FACT. Your an OSU fan, so Pryor is front and center for you, me and others. But don't kid yourself...its all over the place.
BTW, Troy Smith did more than 500. He was in trouble a number of times. I wanted him booted and took all kinds of shit on here.

Pryor's indiscretions didn't lead to Tressel lying. Tressel's momentary lack of character led to Tressel lying.

The Tat 5 didn't force Tressel to cover up for them. But remember that key point...he covered up for THEM, not himself. No skin off his nose if he comes forward with his info and they're simply suspended 5 games or whatever. They didn't force him to lie, but had they not sold their stuff...he would've never been in a position to make that choice. Period
  • Prescott
.he would've never been in a position to make that choice.
The key word is CHOICE. Tressel had a choice and he chose to lie.

You also wanted Zwick to start. LOL

That's why you always have an axe to grind with Smith.

Yes I understand that. He made the wrong choice obviously. But my point (that you apparently fail to see) is that he wouldn't have been given the option to make the wrong choice had the Tat 5 not sold their stuff. Tressel is to blame, but the kids don't escape without any.

I'm with lep here. Tress should have been fired but I want nothing to do with the Tattoo 5 either. Those guys are at the very least partly responsible for this mess. They had a part in bringing the university to their knees. For that, I can no longer cheer on or support TP, Posey, Herron, et al.

Well here's the thing about Urban. If you care about our perception then you absolutely don't want him. He's as dirty as dirty comes (but then again every SEC coach is. Not trolling, it's just how it is down there). But if you don't care about our national perception, then he's absolutely the #1 target.

Listen, I'm not saying Pryor is the worst recruit (in terms of doing stupid stuff) in recent memory (I'd say Sydney punching a teammate in view of cameras might be the worst) but I just really don't think the juice was worth the squeeze. That's my opinion if you disagree fine, but don't sit here and try and tell me that Pryor isn't among the stupidest blue chip prospects.
  • Prescott
is that he wouldn't have been given the option to make the wrong choice had the Tat 5 not sold their stuff.
I see your point, but I don't agree. He knew the rules and he chose to break them. Who knows what other rules he has broken to "Protect" the players. He should have been more concerned about protecting the reputation of "The Ohio State University".
