StiffArmTrophy.com Latest Heisman Projection

Was updated at 1:42 AM Pacific this morning

    #1 Colt McCoy 20.5%
    #2 Toby Gerhart 19.9%
    #3 Suh 19.8%
    #4 Tim Tebow 14.0%
    #5 Mark Ingram 4.9%

The biggest surprise is Ingram being this far behind at this point.

I could see this being the closest Heisman race in history.

    What a joke
  • End of Line
    Ingram should be atleast #2
  • hoops23
lol @ #4 being Tebow and #5 being Ingram...

I bet that's how it works out as well... No way does Tebow not even get an invite... He doesn't deserve one though.
  • ironman02
Who in the hell is putting Tebow ahead of Ingram? You have to be kidding me!!!

Ingram just kicked Florida's tail and Tebow was clearly mediocre in that game. Did people not watch that happen? If Tebow gets invited to NYC, it's a travesty! Just give up the love affair with him and stop giving him preferential treatment!

Ndamakong Suh is the best player in the nation. I doubt if he wins it because a defensive player is at an automatic disadvantage in the Heisman race. This thing should come down to Gerhart and Ingram, in my opinion. McCoy could be right there because of his body of work, but his numbers are down from last year and he was awful last night. That performance against Nebraska might stick in the voters' minds.

Suh has been dominant at DT the entire year.

82 tackles, 12 sacks, and an INT.

I don't know how many tackles for a loss he has, but I'm sure the number is impressive.

Those are impressive numbers for a DT.

Suh has been a beast all year, however usually people were watching other games when Nebraska games were on. It just took til the last week for the whole nation to get to see it.

82 tackles is pretty good for a linebacker. For a defensive tackle that is phenomenal.
  • ironman02
So if he's #1 in tackles for linemen and #3 in sacks, then that's ridiculous. Defensive ends tend to get more sacks than defensive tackles, so I'm impressed by those rankings.

I'm sure the guy has been double-teamed nearly every week also.

    Colt McCoy leading the pack...

    Hmmmm

Suh and Gerhart now the top two on that site.

If the Heisman committee actually did the right thing and gave the award to Suh, who is no question the best player in the country, I will take back everything bad I've ever said about the award.

People that know what they're talking about(including NFL scouts) have known Suh is the best player in the country the whole year.

Tebow should be somewhere between 10th and 20th in the country.
Suh has been the best player all year and it really isn't close. He is an absolute monster! He is without question the top pick in the draft come April. The only problem is that he plays for Nebraska (who has had little national exposure this year) and he plays defense (only one primarily defensive player - Woodson - has ever won the Heisman). They also say that in order to win a Heisman you need to be consistent throughout the whole season, you need to be on a good team, and you need to have a "Heisman" moment. He has probably been the most consistent player all year out of the other Heisman contenders, he wasn't on a great team but they were in the Big XII title game and lost by one on a last-second field goal to the #2 team in the country, and that entire game last night was his Heisman moment.

He should have been there all year, the Heisman committee just sucks like they do every year and only votes for players who are getting the media attention. Most of the media probably hadn't watched Nebraska play until last night.

And I agree he won't win, but only because the Heisman isn't actually awarded to the best player in the country. It's awarded to the best QB/RB on a top team, bonus points for upperclassmen and guys who've played on national tv a lot.

It won't happen but I would love to see Suh win it.

    ^^^

Wow. Very close between Suh, Gerhart, Ingram, and McCoy. This might be one of the closest Heisman races in history.
  • ironman02
Candidates that are invited to NYC will be officially announced on the 6PM SportsCenter tonight.
  • bamagirl
As long as Tebow doesn't win I can deal. They have a great group of guys that have the chance to win it this year.
