I wouldn't disagree with that last statement.Non wrote: Texas was going in on the first series. I won't even back off that.
They were running Alabama all over and then got down in the red zone and scored but had the penalty. With McCoy I guarantee they punch it in 1st-and-goal at the 4.
Alabama really put themselves in a hole early on and the Texas offense didn't have to do too much.
The second possession even if it ended in three would've made it 10-0.
Now you're seeing how the game would've gone if McCoy had played with his experience and confidence. They would've been able to move the ball on Alabama.
Instead they had a two quarter drought with a quarterback that never played before.
I guess I'll agree that you don't know who would win for sure but I think it works both ways. You can't say Alabama would win either way. The injury was a major subplot and it changed the dynamics of the game. -
killer_ewokPucker, pucker, pucker.

2quik4ucome on baby

Terry_TateWow! Unreal game, never would have thought Texas would have a shot like this.
-
mallymal614I have criticize Mac Brown in the past but I must admit, his teams rarely gives up.
-
Nonoh well it ends up we have a good game anyway
not sure how
weird game -
TiernanYES!!!

Ironman92Regardless of how this game ends......Mack Brown's coaching call at the end of teh 1st half was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.
Only down 17-6...run the clock out and get the ball first in the 2nd half and at the time....he didn't know if McCoy was coming back or not.......IDIOTIC
And I think Gilbert has done enough, mixed with Alabama laying down and Ingram missing 4 possessions in the 2nd half........no excuses right now. -
Nonhow can you not root for Mr. Gilbert now

I was fine with Brown's call. Like he said, a shovel pass is relatively low risk and the chances of turning it over weren't good.
Then if a fluke happens and they scored they got the ball back after half.
He made up for that call though. -
NonI agree that was a terrible call at the end of the half
this is puzzling actually
but Ingram did get hurt and losing that mixture hurt Alabama in the third -
TiernanSEC is goin down

Yea its easy to question after the mistake is made, if gilbert would have scored a touchdown then you would be praising Mack Brown and sucking his dick , so stfuIronman92 wrote: Regardless of how this game ends......Mack Brown's coaching call at the end of teh 1st half was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

tk421Penalty on Alabama will give Texas some room out of their end zone.

Ironman92I still think anyone awesome enough to be the backup QB for one of the very best teams in the nation and programs....as a true freshman.....he has to have "it"......As early as he came in you had to figure he'd get used to some things by the 4th qtr....fortunately for everyone Alabama shut it down stupidly.
Has Saban ever watched Texas.......you can't beat em, why would you take your foot off the gas? -
september63Bout time on the PI!!
