    I would say this person already used his influence with this article, so the answer to your question password is yes. He is a high ranking NCAA member giving an opinion via the press. Whether or not he has a "hands on" role in the handling of this situation remains to be seen, but he has already given a "hands off" response that some NCAA officials are bound to take as "this guy" wants Tressel fired or made an example of.

    comparing this to a court of law is laughable. While the NCAA may not "officially" comment during ongoing investigations, they have the right to do so if they wish.
