Just like when I got called every name in the book for saying something along the lines of "RR had 3 wins his first year as HC at WVU, I would prepare for the worst for his first season at UM"

Writerbuckeye;729725 wrote:I think you're confusing the ragging on UM during their investigation with the general hating on RR -- since I believe there was more "hating" on RR going on than anything else. Ohio State fans knew very early on that RR was going to be a failure in Ann Arbor, just like a significant number of UM fans did. It was only the diehards who kept sticking by RR, even when their eyes were telling them the man simply wasn't getting it done on and off the field.

I don't entirely disagree. But the hatred extended beyond the field and accused the man of things that were untrue. Then when stretch-gate happened, those RR hater Buckeyes used it to validate their false accusations.

I certainly felt RR should have been fired, but I also don't think he is the bad guy many make him out to be. Same with Tressel. I think he fucked up, but I don't think he is a bad person because of it.

wtf are YOU talking about?? I can discuss with the best of them, but when an annoying tsun fan gets on here solely to rag on Buckeye fans on the premise that "you guys did it to us", then hell yes I'm going to say something--so NO, I'm not going to stfu

Is he lying though? A year ago, Many (Not all) OSU fans were taking their jabs on the Time Violations, even if it was geared towards Rich Rod more than anything. It was UM as a whole. Now, there are legitimate violations at OSU and a "cover up" to go along with it. Why can't we make the same jabs for a much more serious offense? Maybe you personally didn't say anything, but there were A LOT of OSU fans running their mouth on here. This whole thing will pass just like the Michigan stuff did. Until then, deal with it or STFU.

I wish the College Football Thread went back further than 2 pages, but it doesn't :(

What I really love is people throwing gas on OSU's fire like Cats Gone Wild and bam LSU's Patterson no implicated in a money for his service scheme! Headlines in Yahoo now:

at least lyles had a good eye for talent.

As a recruit most wouldnt be known so they boosters set up a plethora of leg-spreaders for the recruits to choose from.

Believe you me...i was around OSU players back in the 80's and it didn't matter who they were unless they were a complete dork. If you played football for OSU, the chics were hanging on them at parties and bars. And it wasn't set up by the boosters.

Ya I'm very curious as to how much LSU paid for him considering Lyles was seeking 80k from TA&M

Oh I am not disagreeing. I am talking about recruits on visits. No one knows who they are, espcially back then, and they are just recruits not even playing there yet so it woudl behoove booster to set up some sort of trist between a potention blue chip recruit and the local sperm-receptical females

I would say this to every major school/fanbase in the country (especially down in SEC country) that the media is now out for blood concerning foul play in major sports. All major football players should probably hold on to their hats as I see a trend developing here where no school is exempt from getting blasted now. This is the tip of the iceburg and media outlets like Yahoo, ESPN, HBO now, and the likes will jump on any story concerning violations especially in football.

Oh BS... recruits of any sport can hook up with girls on a recruiting visit... it's college, girls in college are kind of easy.

I've seen recruits of every sport hook up with girls on recruiting visits... whether they be tennis players, baseball players, swimmers, crew kids (all sports were represented in my fraternity so the recruits happened to stop by sometimes). Does it mean that it was arranged? No, it means that college girls are easy.

It's funny how everyone has seem to have forgotten how easy college girls are.
  • thavoice
True...college women are easy....but there is a difference between a recruit hooking up on a visit and a booster supplying the women for it and/or setting up such encounters.

Dude on a recruiting trip hooks up while he is there....no big deal....but if a booster greases the wheels and sets it in motion then that is different.

If you've got a problem with my posts, in an official capacity, then send me a PM and let me know about it--if not, run along and let us adults resume our "pissing" match...btw, let "what" go?

So much for being excited for college football to begin...as I said before, this is the first time that I can remember not being pumped for spring practice to begin--I never know what's going to come out next!!!

One thing I have noticed is that ESPN is covering this properly, focusing on the actual issue at Auburn and not the OSU stuff. See, it's not a media conspiracy!

excellent point--I have noticed that as well...unfortunately, every time I hear "another college football scandal" on a news report, I'm prepared to hear The OSU linked to it--and I don't like it

You have brought this non-issue up twice. You arent getting anywheres considering LSU isnt under fire from this article. LSU didnt do anything wrong, thats why no one else in this topic is talking about what you brought up and thats why the LSU site isnt blowing up about this situation (just read the SEC rant forum, and of course non LSU fans are running their mouths but on the Tiger Rant which I read for LSU related news, LSU fans arent worried about it at all). Maybe you should get on a A&M or Oregon site to stir up people.

Of course LSU didn't do anything wrong...with your 3 inch thick coke bottom LSU goggles on. Now take off your goggles and try to see what it looks like now....

OK, bring up some proof LSU has done anything wrong. Sorry, but they dont stoop down to OSU's level.
