Sweet 16: (4) Kentucky vs. (1) Ohio State

Midstate01Lighty has guarded bigger guys before. Won't affect him at all. He does a great job defending in the post.

Classyposter58Game is 9:45 and a nice advantage for the Bucks is the fact this game is being played in a regulation sized arena and not a football stadium...I can guarantee the shooting would struggle a bit

Beat me to it. Lighty guarded Leuer a significant amount and held his own. He is quick enough and physical enough to guard any 5 positions. -
j_crazythis is the game osu goes down

I honestly don't give a crap one way or another and am NOT playing the "we don't get respect" card, because I don't believe that. I just thought it interesting that for two games now, people have posted stuff about talking heads praising the team and then talking about how they can be beat.
I think it's shallow TV and radio personalities trying to catch lightning in a bottle by hedging their bets. Say OSU is the best, but talk about how they think they can lose. If it happens, they get to pat themselves on the back for a few days.
As for me: I take NOTHING for granted in a single elimination tournament. I've seen the "best" team not win the NCAA on too many occasions.
I'm just taking it one game at a time as I have all season and enjoying the hell out of it -- because we likely won't see another run like this by an OSU team again for a long time. It just doesn't happen that often. Oden & Conley's group got to the title game, but it was through a lot of good fortune (Xavier and Tenn. as prime examples), along with talent.
Well of course other fans will pick someone other than OSU to win the title. Did you really expect every single person to pick OSU, just because they are the #1 overall seed? In my opinion, the fact that so many people are picking OSU and are saying OSU is the best team is more of a compliment to OSU then it is a disrespect that some people aren't taking them.
And why is it interesting that people are saying OSU is the best team, but can be beat? Do you not think OSU can be beaten? -
WriterbuckeyeI think you need a reading lesson or else (1) you'd know it was the commentators that fans were talking about, not other fan predictions and (2) you'd not have to ask that last question.
-
SportsAndLadyYou said it was interesting to you that people think OSU is the best team yet aren't picking them...those are your words.

AutomatikOSU is the best team in the country and I'm picking them to beat UK. To win it all? Lets hope!

se-alumIn basically irrelevant(for this year) Buckeye news, JD Weatherspoon has been reinstated and will travel w/ the team this weekend.
-
osu45804I know rotations are set and Matta won't go this far down the bench but Freshman J.D. Weatherspoon (academically ineligible) has been reinstated to the team and will travel to Newark.

Swamp FoxI'm hoping the Bucks outside shooting continues to be a strength and Sullinger controls the paint.

Ty WebbDoes anyone find it kinda funny that this kid gets reinstated two days before OSU's biggest game of the season

Nope, cause grades from the Winter Quarter were just released, so obviously, if this kid was academically ineligible from the previous quarter, he had the chance to pick up those grades in this quarter. It's quite clear that he got reinstated because his grades improved, allowing him to academically eligible. -

Yeah, I'm really happy he got reinstated....makes OSU much more likely to get the W. -
Ty WebbI honestly don't care that he got reinstated....Ohio State still wont win
Just seems kinda odd -

Why is it odd? The quarter ended and his grades came in and he is eligible now. :rolleyes:Ty Webb;722157 wrote:I honestly don't care that he got reinstated....Ohio State still wont win

ytownfootballGood God Gibby, there's absolutely nothing odd about it.
What would be odd were he to see 30 seconds of tourney floor time from here on out, that would be odd. -

I think the school Gibby goes to gives stars or frowns so he doesn't understand -

Do you understand a quarter system in college? -

You realize who you're dealing with right? lol -
wildcats20Yeah it's so odd that a kid who hasn't played in a game since December 27, played a TOTAL of 54 on the year, and in only ONE game that was decided by less than 20 points is coming back before the biggest game of the year.
