Also Tressel asks for and receives the same 5 game suspension as the players

I had lost hope that they would get their suspension reduced. Although I think all of the suspensions are too long, I'm glad to see Tressel ask for the same suspension as his players. -
dwccrewNot surprised the players didn't get their suspensions reduced, but I am surprised that Tressel asked for the same 5 game suspension.

I agree, but I don't know why I was surprised that Tressel asked for the same suspension. It is something that I would normally expect out of him. -
jordo212000No surprise here. There is very little precedent of the NCAA reducing suspensions.

Saint Sweater Vest has quite the following. -
thedynasty1998So Tressel only feels like he deserves a 5 game suspension because that's what his players are getting? He is supposed to be a leader, he should have done this originally, if at all. And I also think he knows that the NCAA is going to be harsher than what OSU was so he is trying to save some face.

I disagree that Tressel should have had a 5 game suspension originally. The university was appealing the palyer suspensions...I'm sure hoping for 2 games. Once that appeal was denied, he asked for an equal suspension.thedynasty1998;716287 wrote:So Tressel only feels like he deserves a 5 game suspension because that's what his players are getting? But the coach should have been suspended more than the players in the first place. -

Anyone surprised by his anti osu trolling? I'm certaintly not. -

Why? Coaches can get fined, players cannot.
Suspension + fine > suspension -
vball10setso if the Buckeyes start out the season 5-0, should Fickell continue as the HC and have JT be his assistant?

Only if his offense can score more then 35 points a game -

love it---GO BUCKS!!!! -
thedynasty1998So do you really think coaches shouldn't be held to a higher standard than the players?
And yes, I know the monetary loss is a factor, but I still don't think 2 games was enough. -

How are they not?
Once again, suspension + fine > suspension -

and neither did JT, thus the extended suspension -

2 game suspension and $250k fine for someone making over $3 million < NFL hopefuls missing first 5 games of senior year -

It shouldn't have taken this long. What the NCAA decided for the players should have been irrelevant. -

yeah ok
This suspension is for the 2011 season, not the player's future. The suspension for the 2011 season is more when it is games+fine than just games. -
