I dont think OSU will make the Elite 8

  • cats gone wild
I think they have a tough road for being the #1 overall seed.

    I'm shocked by your revelation.

Tough indeed but beat your opponent and you have nothing to worry about.

Off topic, but the more I look at the bracket the more I call shenanigans with Florida. Not only are they a sucky 2 seed, but they play the first two rounds (or 2nd and third) in Tampa likely against two teams traveling from the west coast, and the regional is in New Orleans. Donovan must have slipped Gene Smith a few c-notes - that is nearly as dumb as VCU getting in the tournament.

This should be moved to the "Bold Predictions" thread.

Whatever...lol...I mean, you can't make this prediction in any of the various threads?

No, as a troll, you throw in "they have the toughest bracket" and make your own thread to be heard...so transparent.

Kentucky or Villanova will take Ohio State out. Since Villanova will not, I think Kentucky will. The Wildcats are on a roll and Josh Harrellson playing the best basketball of his career. He is not Wilt Chamberlain on the offensive end, or even Nazr Mohammed, but what Harrellson is is effective around the cylinder -- he snatches offensive boards for perimeter kick-outs, provides key put backs on missed drives and grinds for loose balls and tips to keep the offensive alive for Kentucky. I think one of the ESPN analysts (I can't remember which) said it best tonight when he stated that Harrellson is playing very similar to and developing in the same fashion as Brian Zoubek did for Duke a season ago.

I like Kentucky to advance to its first Final Four in 14 years after knocking off Ohio State in Newark.

Then again, I would probably take Tara Lipinksi over Ohio State if that were the Buckeyes first round opponent. So I'm not the best person to ask. I do like Kentucky right now, though.

Hi, Dey. How are you? I wouldn't click on your link if not doing so meant I would die.

Kentucky's weakness all year has been soft post play. Even most of their fans admit it. Why does that make them favorable against OSU? They'll be lucky to get by WVU first.

Ohio State I would argue is better than UK at 3 out of 5 positions. It won't be the homicide that GMU/Nova will endure, but it won't be pretty either.
  • ytownfootball
What does it mean when Dukie V. predicts an OSU/Duke final and has OSU winning?
  • CinciX12
That Jared Sullinger will make Singler his bitch and break him in half. Hopefully at least.
  • reclegend22
Well, since Duke and Ohio State share the same side of the bracket, I'm not sure it's that relevant a scenario.

That he didn't look at the bracket? OSU and Duke can't meet in the final.

Kentucky and OSU is an intriguing match-up because both teams are very similar.

If only Enes Kanter was eligible, it would change the dynamics of the game to probably an NCAA final. Kanter and Sullinger at the Nike Hoops Summit last year, Kanter dominated, but Sullinger is a hell of a player and that would be fabulous. Breaking down the match-ups, I'd say it would be like this:

Jared Sullinger > Josh Harrellson - the biggest mis-match on the court
Terrence Jones > Dallas Lauderdale - Not as big of a disadvantage as Sully vs Harrelson, but close
Darius Miller = David Lighty - Different styles, but very similar roles on their respective teams
Brandon Knight > William Buford - Very close, but I'm not sure anyone on OSU can match Knight
Jon Diebler > DeAndre Liggins - Liggins is the best defender Diebler will see all year, but production-wise, it's Jon
Doron Lamb > Aaron Craft - Very, very slight edge to Lamb, but both probably 2 of the top 5 sixth men in the country

The difference for Ohio State is after the top 6 and Sullinger. Jared creates a different dimension that Kentucky could have advantages at every other spot and it would probably be equal. However, Ohio State also gets an advantage for DeShaun Thomas off the bench, and Kentucky can't match anyone like that coming off the pine.

That is where OSU's advantage is. They are a legit 7 deep, Kentucky is only 6. Both teams have other guys who can play sparingly, but for breakdown purposes, it's 7 vs 6. Sullinger is also against UK's biggest weakness, interior defense. Outside of that, it's actually a very intriguing game because neither team turns the ball over, both teams force other teams into turnovers, both teams shoot the ball lights out from behind the arc and both teams have plenty of pure talent.

I'm personally hoping the game happens.

2/6 for OSU..that's pretty biased if you ask me.
