I just feel these are the 5 best teams in the country. I don't think anyone outside of that list has a snowballs chance in hell at winning the championship. -

BYU? Without their only legit post player?
You can't rely on ONE player in the NCAAs. Ask Gonzaga. -
slingshot4everOSU, KU
No one else matters as long as those two are put onopposute sides of the bracket. -
oberhausDoes ND take Pitt's #1 seed now?

I would think so. Unless they drop tomorrow's game. -
athlete37Very possible we drop tomorrow's game. In fact, I would imagine Louisville will be favored. I think we'll win with the way we're playing, but Louisville is a solid team. If Marquette's able to pull off the upset tonight (which also is very possible), I think you can punch our ticket to the finals and a 1 seed.

SportsAndLadyND goes to the title game (win or lose), they get the 1 seed...pitt the 2
ND loses tomorrow, Pitt gets the 1 seed. -
ironman02With the ND loss, it seems as though OSU, KU, and Pitt are probably #1 seeds.
Does the winner of the ACCT (if it's Carolina or Duke) get the last #1? -

Ive thought, and continue to think this. Which means it will be ND and Pitt if UNC wins it. -

So ND gets the last #1 over Carolina if the Heels win the ACCT?Laley23;708768 wrote:Ive thought, and continue to think this. Which means it will be ND and Pitt if UNC wins it.
I also think that's possible. Duke is a lock for the last #1 if they win it though. -

Correct. I dont see anyone else who can vie for it. Texas has to be eliminated right?? -

I would think the Horns are out of contention for a #1, but if they beat Kansas, things could get interesting.Laley23;708773 wrote:Correct. I dont see anyone else who can vie for it. Texas has to be eliminated right?? -

reclegend22After last night: Kansas (my overall #1), Ohio State, Pitt and Duke/UNC (whichever wins the ACC Tournament).
Duke is the unanimous fourth one seed if the Blue Devils win their 10th ACC title in 13 years on Sunday. With a loss in the Big East semi-finals, and now six losses, I think Notre Dame would also lose out on the one seed if North Carolina finishes the season strong and takes the ACC. If the Heels were to win their third ACC title in 13 years on Sunday, that would likely give North Carolina two wins over Duke in the last week and enough momentum to move into a top seed.
With that said, both North Carolina and Duke could easily lose today. Tobacco Road experienced such a grave occurrence in the 1979 NCAA tournament, infamously dubbed "Black Sunday," when both #1 seeded North Carolina and #2 seeded Duke fell in their second round match-ups to St. John's and Penn, respectively, on the same day in the East Region. The "Black Sunday" losses terminated what many believed to be a destined meeting between North Carolina and Duke in the East Regional Final in Greensboro. For the sake of those with a vested interest in the rivalry, it was probably providence that the confrontation never happened. The two schools, of course, have never met in the NCAAs. -

And they never should unless it is for the NC. -

no one cares -
athlete37UNC wins and ND gets the number one spot. UNC's previous (and only other) win over a top 50 team before the Duke win was Kentucky (Dec. 4th). They also have a 20 pt loss to Georgia Tech, losses to Minnesota and Illinois, to go with the Duke loss and a couple others.
