Conference Tournaments

Anyone see the finish to the sunbelt championship? This is why it's my favorite time of the year

The better team lost in every single first round Atlantic 10 game today. You know what that means? They sucked today. Not that the conference has parity. Take notes Big East.

If the winner of the game were to play Oral Roberts it would be even more funny.

BC/Clemson and Bama/Georgia could both be play-in (or play out) games tomorrow.
  • ironman02
According to Lunardi, BC and Clemson are both in. I would think the loser of that game might still have something to worry about, but the winner is a lock, in my opinion.

I think that should be a pretty good game. I'll probably get to see the very end of it after work tomorrow.

BC cannot possibly be in. They are awful
  • Azubuike24
I actually think Georgia and Boston College are in regardless. Now, getting embarrassed in these games could hurt, but if both are down to the wire, I think those teams are in. The games tomorrow are huge for Alabama, Clemson, New Mexico, Michigan, Richmond, Memphis, Michigan State, UTEP, USC, Virginia Tech and St. Mary's.

Lunardi has them in as a 12 seed and they're not in his "Last Four In". I'm not saying they're good, but they are 20-11 and they have a winning record in conference.

It definitely wouldn't hurt if they beat Clemson tomorrow, but I honestly think they're in no matter what.

Georgia is a lock too. Compare them to all of these other teams we are discussing and they have a better RPI and no bad losses. Outside of losing to Yale, Boston College is fairly solid. Clemson on the other hand, 2 wins over the top 50, one was Florida State and the other Boston College. Not impressive to say the least. 4 losses to teams outside of the top 100 as well.

Agreed. My post was actually directed at CinciX12. I was typing as you posted, Azubuike24.

I think Georgia and Richmond are probably in the best shape of the teams you listed. Michigan, BC, MSU, or Va Tech might be able to survive a loss tomorrow. I don't think the others could.

One other team I'll throw in there is Washington State. If they beat Washington tonight they'll have 3 wins over them on the season, plus Gonzaga, Baylor, and USC. Oregon beat UCLA too, so they'll have a great shot of getting to the Pac-10 final.

It would also put Washington in a lot of trouble. Again, 3 L's to Wazzu on the season, with it's best non-conference win being either Virginia or Long Beach State, and some bad losses (Stanford, Oregon, and Oregon State).

I just don't see the Pac-10 getting 4 teams, and I'm not sure you could put Washington in over Washington State with an 0-3 head to head record on the season, and pretty comparable resumes otherwise.

Fans still are hoping that Memphis wins C-USA, Xavier/Temple wins the A-10, Utah State wins with WAC and New Mexico doesn't sneak in to win the MWC.

Otherwise, there are going to be most likely enough bubble spots for most of these teams being discussed. If you are St. Mary's, Missouri State or UAB you are in trouble because there isn't any basketball left to play.

Xavier down by 9 at half to Dayton
  • CinciX12
Dayton is beating the living shit out of X. Up by 17 at the 12 min mark. Bubble shrinks by a spot..
  • gorocks99
I can't imagine Dayton is in with a win over X. They have one good win all year up to this point, over George Mason, and another OK win over New Mexico.
  • CinciX12
Dayton definitely needs the A10 automatic spot.
  • CinciX12
Dayton is up by 6 at the under 8 timeout. How dumb of me to forget that they are Dayton. Good god Brian Gregory is the shittiest coach in the entire country.
  • CinciX12
Xavier is now down by 2. Lol when I mock Dayton and no one knows why..this is why.
  • gorocks99
Dayton hangs on to win by 1
  • CinciX12
Never underestimate the ability of Joe Demayo to suck cock. Oh well, we are significantly better than UD and that shouldn''t have even been a game. Disaster from the start. Good lord.
  • Laley23
Bubble spot COULD be shrinking, if Temple doesnt take the A-10 crown. If they do, still probably a 2 bid league, as it has been all along.
  • CinciX12
I don't know what they were talking about when they said that Richmond should be in. Everything I have seen for the past 2 weeks shows the A10 as a 2 bid league. I think Dayton wins their next game against St. Joes/Duquense but then has a loss to Temple in the finals.

CBS and ESPN both have Richmond in, not on the bubble:

And the vast majority of other projections have Richmond in: http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm

That baffles me greatly. Richmond has about 0.001% of winning an NCAA Tourney game.

Didn't you say the same shit last year in the tourney about Richmond? Something like "I'm 100% positive Richmond will win" I think they played that Sheehan fuck from out west..I picked Richmond to win because of you, you fucker
