You just got done saying ND getting a one seed was not a possibility, yet this ^^^ is the best response you have to the fact that they'll be number four the week of Selection Sunday?? I do have to give you props on your avatar though-- blue and gold always looks sharp

So no wager? Gotcha. ND fans never did have any balls.

Duke vs. ND comparison... Honestly, if ND makes the finals of the BE tourney and Duke doesn't win the ACC, ND should be seeded as the 1:

    vs. RPI Top 50
Duke 7-3 (BC and UNC again in ACC tourney would be Duke's only shot at another T50 win)
Notre Dame 10-4 (would likely be 12-5 if we lose in BET Final)

    vs. RPI Top 25
Duke 2-2 (non-UNC loss was blowout at St. John's)
Notre Dame 7-4 (seven BE teams would be T25 opponents in NYC)

Road/neutral wins (RPI, from best to worst, w/ * after true Road wins)
    Duke - 19, 44, 55, 68*, 84*, 103*, 142*, 152, 254*, 302*
    ND - 7*, 13, 18*, 35, 70, 146*, 158*, 236*

    Home wins
    Duke- 9, 28, 29, 40, 43, 51
    ND- 8, 17, 18, 21, 32, 34, 55, 65

Losses (Neither team lost at home)
    Duke- 9, 21, 49, 61
    Notre Dame- 12, 14, 16, 21, 55

    I would take that bet.

ND 7 wins or more, I will never post on any thread with Notre Dame in the title.

    Any takers?

    I fully endorse this.

Also, I think ND wins the Big East Tournament and gets a #1 seed based off that.

Duke has to win the ACC tournament to have any chance at a 1 seed.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if someone other than ND or Pitt won the BE tourney, North Carolina won ACCT, Fightin Jimmers get upset in their tourney and Texas bows out early of Big XII. OSU and Kansas are the only 1 seeds that are locked up at this point. Purdue had a shot but that probably went out the door in Iowa City.

I don't think Pitt has to win the Big East tournament to get a 1 seed, just don't lose to Providence or some shit team like and they are ok. If all of the rest of that happened I bet North Carolina would get the last #1 seed.

Frankly, I like how no one talks about them and hope they continue to be under the radar for March Madness. It took awhile but Mike Brey has finally put together a team that can win a bunch of different ways.

how'd that work out for the steelers rock?

We're talkin college hoops Einstein. Nice avatar btw.

I'd be fine with ND being the 4th #1, especially if Duke bows out early in the ACC tourney.

Why no love for BYU? Would they be the last #1 if they didn't lose to New Mexico?

BYU was in great position to get a 1 seed until Davies was suspended.

Would you like to compare resumes between OSU football and basketball with Notre Dame? LOL

    My #1s:

    Locks:
    Kansas
    OSU

    Semi-Locks:
Duke/UNC, because whichever wins the ACCT will be a #1 imo, and no one other than these 2 can win the ACCT lol.

    Chance:
Pitt (is the #1 right now)
ND (Has to beat Pitt, imo, winning the BE tourney wont do it unless its versus Pitt)
    Wisconsin (Beat OSU and Purdue)
    Purdue (Beat OSU and Wisconsin)

I think Texas is done, and I cant give BYU or SDSU a #1 seed. Neither are anywhere near what St. Joesephs was a few years ago out of the A-10, when they earned the #1 seed from a mid-major (Memphis excluded).

Yeah if ND wins the Big East tourney they are a lock. That would be 3 more top 40 wins and be more impressive than the ACC winner.

That being said, ND is pretty mediocre away from home, so it's very unlikely they win it.

Beat Georgia, Cal (who knocked off Temple day before), and Wisconsin in successive days to win the Old Spice Tourney. Have won 5 of their last 6 road games (including at Pitt and at UConn). People forget that Carleton Scott was missing for two of our four road losses. Give me another team who has road wins like @ Pitt and UConn, to go with a neutral win over Wisconsin.

Don't need to get so defensive, I didn't say they were terrible. That preseason tourney was in front of a pro ND crowd, more like a home game than neutral court or away game. The Garden will be at least 80% anti-ND. You can spin it however you want but they haven't been that impressive on the road. Yes, winning at Pitt is a great win.

Like hell it will, there's more ND fans in New York than any place else.

Like I said, show me teams that have more impressive away from home wins than @Pitt and UConn and neutral against Wisconsin. This isn't to mention that ND has won 5 of it's last 6 away games. Sorry, that's impressive in my mind. ND has an excellent chance to make the finals next weekend and potentially win the whole thing come Saturday night.

Typical from a loser like you. As I said before all you have is one win in six years or praying another team can do what your sorry ass could not.........talk about pathetic.
  • athlete37
Kansas has away wins @ Mizzou and Michigan and a neutral against Arizona.
OSU has away wins at Florida, Illinois and Florida State- with Fla being the only top 40 team of that group.
BYU has wins @ SDSU and UNLV, and neutral over Az, guess that's comparable but also have neutral loss to UCLA and loss @ New Mexico (before Davies was suspended).
SDSU won @UNLV and @Colorado State
Duke's best road win is @Miami, they have neutral win over KState. Throw in the road losses at VaTech, Florida State.

ND's road losses are to 15, 16, 22, and Marquette (the latter two without Carleton Scott).

So your argument essentially means that none of those other teams should win their conference tournament, since they're not that good away from home
