If they win a game in the Big East tourny, they are all but a lock imo.Does any team have better wins than ND?

I think for SJ, the biggest game they have is their home game against Pitt.
They have 6 games left, I'm thinking they lose @ Marquette and @ Nova...they have only won 2 BE games on the road and they were to bad teams. They just aren't good on the road.
They will beat Depaul and USF at home..and I think they beat Seton Hall on the road, SH isn't good at all.
So that puts them at 3-2, wtih that pivotal game against Pitt at home. They beat Pitt, they are 19-11..in. They lose, they are 18-12...The epitome of a bubble team. -

My scenario was based on ND winning out, meaning I think Duke would take Pitts spot (because they would falter to let ND win out). I know the BE is tough, but I still see a 3 loss Duke team (2 loss if they do win out) getting the nod over ND. I certainly dont have Duke as a #1 right now. -

Right, which is why I said they might sneak onto the 1 line. They need to finish off the regular season by not stumbling on a bad loss, and then perform well in the BE tourney. And I still think they need help from other teams. It isn't a guarantee even if ND wins out including BE tourney that they would be a 1. -

Gotcha, and agree. -
Crimson streakIf nd wins out and the be tourny. They will be a number 1 sees no doubt. That would mean they would have beaten uconn twice, nova, and possibly Pitt and Georgetown/cuse in the tourny.

reclegend22^^Even if all of that plays out for Notre Dame, Duke would still get the nod ahead of the Irish (assuming Texas, OSU and Kansas acquire the three other No. 1 seeds, and Pitt experiences a loss or two along the way) if the Blue Devils win out in the regular season, take the ACC championship in Greensboro, and finish at 33-2.
Duke will not likely win out, however, so the point is trivial. But neither will Notre Dame. -
athlete37obvs the following is based on rpi and not inclusive of conference tourneys, but just food for thought:

karen lotzCan't see the Big East getting 8 of the top 12 seeds...

athlete37Anyone still wanna say all of the number 1's are already locked up?

I will, at least the main 3. Kansas could lose again to Texas and get a #1. Texas can afford to lose as well and still get it. -
athlete37Hate to say I told you all so, but this is a very legitimate possibility...

No, it's not. -
krambmansleeper;700493 wrote:No, it's not.
Yes it is. OSU and Kansas are the only two teams that are locks for #1 seeds regardless of what happens down the stretch. The other two spots are pretty wide open.
f Duke wins out then they will be a #1 seed.
If either Pitt or Notre Dame wins the Big East tournament, then that team will be a #1. If neither of the two wins the Big East tourney then the one that goes the farthest likely will.
If either BYU or San Diego State wins out then they have an outside shot at still being a #1 seed as well, if they get some losses from the other teams ahead of them.
Texas still have a very outside chance if they run things, but they need a lot of help. -

Like always, you're not living in reality. Typical. Talk to me Monday when Notre Dame's ranked number 4 in the country. -
Crimson streakAgreed if nd wins the big east tourny they are a 1 seed. That's a bog if right now as nd always struggles at msg. But this nd team is different. Just like today, this team finds a way to win
-
rock_knutneThe only way ND gets a #1 seed is if they win the Big East Tournament. Frankly, I like how no one talks about them and hope they continue to be under the radar for March Madness. It took awhile but Mike Brey has finally put together a team that can win a bunch of different ways.

Talk to me in 3 weeks when ND is on the outside of the sweet 16 looking in at all the teams that are actually good. LOL -
sleeperI'd also being willing to make a wager that ND is not a 1 seed. Any takers?
-
karen lotzIf they win the BE tourney, they are a 1 seed. If not, a 2 seed in Chicago is not horrible.

Why would anyone bet with you? Do you know what the "ND" in the title of this thread stands for and how that relates to the last bet you made? -

That's only for college football and after January 1st. I have obliged since then. Why don't you cry to someone who cares and enjoy mediocrity for the rest of your life? -
karen lotzI only have my OSU degree to blame if I am forced into mediocrity for the rest of my life.

Once again you're delusional. You just got done saying ND getting a one seed was not a possibility, yet this ^^^ is the best response you have to the fact that they'll be number four the week of Selection Sunday?? I do have to give you props on your avatar though-- blue and gold always looks sharp
