Better conference?

  • sleeper
As we wrap up the Big Ten/ACC challenge with the Big Ten winning in big time fashion 6-5, despite playing their 11 worst teams vs. the ACC's best 11, which conference is simply BETTER?
  • reclegend22
ACC come mid-January. But yes, the Big Ten is amazing now.

The amazing "worst" eleven improve to 1-10 all-time in this series.

    Thanks, Oliver. You jerk.

Lol. who gives a rats ass about the challenge? I am pissed my team epically failed tonight.

Georgia Tech, who is ranked 23, was not slotted in this years challenge.

So to say that this was the ACC's best, is incorrect.

Rankings mean nothing at this time of the year. GT was the ACC's worst team last year and they might repeat.

The league talk is irrelevant as well.College basketball is about individual teams and not conferences.

Duke can't even beat Wisconsin LOL

Bo Ryan is like 115-8 at the Kohl Center as Wisconsin's head coach.

LOL! Yeah it was such SHOCKER that he was able to get a big win at home.

GT will definitely not be the worst team in the ACC this year. I thought it would be BC or UVA. GT has some stud freshman.

    The ACC is definitely the class act of college basketball;
having said that, they are a bit young, and a bit down this year compared to past years.
The Big Ten is deep this year.
If one measuring stick is the number of teams in the tourney...I truly believe that more Big Ten teams will go deeper into the tournament this year than ACC teams. Maybe only this year, however.

Ignore Sleeper, if you have seen his posts before, you know his act.

Either way, this challenge is the same as the NCAA tourney. The whole thing comes down to match-ups. I honestly thought the Big Ten was the better conference this year but wouldnt win because of crappy match-ups. The Big Ten has been better in previous years and lost because of match-ups and the ACC has won less when they were the better conference because of match-ups.

Then why can't they beat the Big Ten in a simple challenge?

Seems like the Big Ten is the "class act" of college basketball this year, time to take your lumps ACC.

Nobody here is giving the Big Ten anything but congrats and respect. I said it before and I'll say it again: ACC/Big East/Big Ten are the best bball conferences around.

    "Duke can't even beat Wisconsin"

Yeah, the Big Ten won in BIG TIME fashion according to you, 6-5 *hahaha* What a joke. Seems like you're NOT the "class act" of this forum. They win one challenge in ELEVEN years and they are the class act of college basketball??????????? Moron.

Admit the Big Ten is better, don't diminish their achievement with comments such as the ACC being the class of college basketball and that they are down this year. Big Ten have had to put up with 10 years of hearing how great the ACC is because they keep winning this thing only to now have the door swing the other way and ACC acting like its not a big deal.

How about you come on this thread and immediately give credit to the Big Ten for being the superior conference this year like Big Ten fans have done in the past when the ACC has won the challenge?

    Zero class in the ACC.
  • mattinctown
Zero class by the OP, not the ACC.

I don't think there is any doubt about the best conference in college basketball being the Big 10. Even in the past years, the Big 10 was as deep as any league, they just keep getting better, especcially after Big 10 play. The Big 10's problem seems to that they beat up on each other during the conference play. Not a bad problem to have.

LOL at all the ACC whiners. When the ACC wins, we hear about it for a month. Now that the ACC finally loses, its no big deal. Some of you are Starting to sound like SEC football fans. Just admit the obvious, and move on.
  • dokken
I just looked at the AP top 25. Seems like one particular conference isn't listed as a choice.

What exactly is obvious? I don't think anybody is denying that the Big Ten is a great conference...

    However, a 6-5 challenge win isn't exactly a "statement"...

Michigan, a team that was projected to be in the top 4 in the Big Ten, lost to one of the bottom half ACC teams at HOME.

UNC has taken out two of the top 3 teams in the Big Ten as well...
