Hopefully we can add Kansas to the list today!
  • Azubuike24
Yes, many other close games going on.

This is the first weekend I have really had to just watch games, and I plan on doing so all day!

    Will keep it updated.

Duke has regained control against Virginia. from down 9 to up 3.
  • wildcats20
Duke will go on to win by 15+
  • Azubuike24
Not top 25 games, but there were some great ones already today.

Tennessee comes back from 17 down and beats Vanderbilt by 3
Colorado was down big and has come back to tie up Oklahoma State in Boulder
Florida was down double digits and has come back to get back in it against South Carolina
Michigan State rallied back, tied up Northwestern and won in OT in East Lansing

Virginia has imploded. They're panicking, they're rushing, and they're not executing.

    Virginia sucks.

The thing that makes college basketball great is March and a tournament. Losses in January aren't particularly worrisome for the top level programs.

If only there were something akin to this in college football
  • Azubuike24
That's true. But the season just sets up March Madness. Honestly, this year has been crazy. The gap between mid-majors and big schools has closed, and the gap between the best in a given conference and the worst has closed.

Colorado is playing very well lately. Alec Burks is a stud.
  • Azubuike24
Yep, Burks and Higgins are a great combo.

Speaking of top 25, Colorado will be in it next week.

    You left out that:
    Michigan State was #24
    Pittsburg was #5
    Villanova was #7
    Minnesotta was #25
    Syracuse was #4
    Wisconsin was #21
  • Azubuike24
I didn't leave that out. This was about top 25 teams who LOST. It doesn't mean they were all upsets.

Which team was favored in this game?? I looked it up. WVU was -3. Don't trust the rankings, trust the book.

JuJuan Johnson was a beast, Moore was below average and the other players did not show up.

I could care less who was favored. It fits the thread title so I posted it.

That is fine. The implication is that this was an upset and it wasn't.

No, that wasn't the implication. It was factual information that was relevant to the thread. Regardless of what the spread was......a top 25 team lost in that game.

#11 Notre Dame also got handled by the Johnnies in MSG, by 18. That's two double digit losses in a row for the Irish. Also comes 8 days after they beat the Johnnies in South Bend.

Yeah, ND is reeling now. They looked solid early.
  • wildcats20
They've got Cincy on Wednesday. That is a big game IMO. Need to play well and get a win with Marquette coming to South Bend on Saturday. If they can win those 2, they will be right back in the thick of things. Setting up a big time game next Monday @Pitt.

What is the big deal if a top 25 underdog loses?

Who said it was a big deal? I simply posted it on this thread about TOP 25 TEAMS LOSING. I caught the end of the game while tuning in to watch the Pats-Jets pregame and saw the result. It seemed appropriate for this thread. You're making it out to be something it's not. I have no agenda here.

WTF is with ND right now?
  • wildcats20
No longer "this week" but Kentucky is getting throttled at Alabama right now.
