So you're rooting for your starting QB to get hurt?

Well we all know I've been wrong before cough cough Thadeus let's just hope I'm right about this.

And let's not forgot Arkansas is a really talented team, just because they don't have the same name appeal as Florida, LSU, etc. doesn't mean they can't beat us without us imploding.
  • darbypitcher22
Arkansas could very well beat us. They could shred the shit out of our secondary

I've said this since this game was annoucned...

This game is going to come down to who can run the ball well enough to free up their QB to throw it

If Ohio State lets Arkansas run its offense in a similar way as Wisconsin, this game will get real ugly real fast
  • lhslep134
Okay so I'll be back on here around 5:30 eastern with updates from OSU's media conference. Til then, Go Browns!

Alright guys, not much to report, nothing really new. Ty, John Simon was asked about the incident, here's what he had to say (I'm not going to say I told you so, the video speaks for itself)

I kind of agree. The guys are simply saying the "right" thing. Obviously something like this has had some sort of affect on the team.

It seems like Auburn was able to rally around Cam Netwon while his ordeal was going on, I dont know why Ohio State cant do the same thing

NO ONE can run their offense like Wisky. Hell, they put up 226 yards rushing on the #1 D yesterday. Wisky is in a league of their own when it comes to running the ball.

Cam Newton is the leader of Auburn and is a very charismatic person. There is a reason they rallied around him, it's because he elevated his level of play.

Pryor is disliked, continues to say the wrong things and does not have a history of elevating his play in big games.

    Huge difference.

I think the Rose Bowl is about the only game he's really done that in, and I can't figure out if it was because we had a superior scheme that night or that Oregon's defense just didn't show up

Believe it or not some people are capable of giving forgiveness and moving on. Knowing what I do about Coach Tressel and his strong Christian faith I have a feeling that grace and forgiveness are something preached often to this team.

Even if there are lingering issues those things get put to the side once the game starts. No one is going to miss a blocking assignment or run a wrong play because they are consciously mad at these guys. If there will be any effect at all it will be because of distractions and a lack of focus during preparation, not during the game.

I believe I read where there's only one press conference today for Tress and no onfield practice session as its a "Friday" in the Buckeye week, is that right lep?

NOt saying they can, what I meant was Ohio State can't allow Arkansas to run the ball well enough for Mallet to be able to satnd back there and pick them apart

I agree with that, but you can;t tell me that it's not somewhat possible that there will be a moment in the game tomorrow when Brewster,Boren,or some one else won't look at Pryor and think,"Is he going to quit on us?"

Correct. Tressel gave his press conference today. Nothing crazy, he actually cracked like 3 or 4 jokes which was funny. He was asked about Pryor's Herbstreit comments to which he responded, "sometimes you prefer that an opinion is not shared" which means he's disappointed that Pryor said that, but acknowledging he's got no control over what TP says when he opens his mouth.

The best part was some guy from ESPN (not Rittenberg) asked about Terrel (pronounced Tear-al) and Tressel said "Who?"...that was pretty funny, dude had to feel like an idiot.

The rest of the conference was very Tressel-like, giving respect to the Arkansas team and coaching staff. Nothing was asked about the suspensions except whether Tressel was confident the players would keep their word to which he replied "Very confident".

No, not during the game. If that enters their mind during the game then they weren't focused enough on the task at hand to begin with.

Are you up in the box the entire game or do you ever get down to the field?

My bad didn't see this. This year as a senior I'm in the box every game but at the Iowa game the juniors were down on the field the whole game and last year at the Rose Bowl I was on the field.
