Fellow OSU fans, I have a question.

Would love to understand that thought process....
Uh, your the one who brought up Nicklaus pal. Nice try at the spin. -

A moron? lol Thanks for continueing to prove what I think of you. An arrogant 20someting who knows it all. Its hard discussing because I continually prove you wrong and make points.thedynasty1998;614682 wrote:You really are a moron. Did you even read my post?
It's really hard discussing something with you at times. First off, no one said anything about professional sports, we were talking about a full ride in college. Secondly, I answered your question. I could make plenty of excuses, but yes, I didn't work hard enough.
Not even sure what you are trying to say in your second paragraph.
BTW, you could have worked your ass off for the next 20yrs and would have NEVER sniffed the NBA or a D1 scholarship. Thats a fact and you know it as well. -

I wasn't comparing him. I cited a quote that he was famous for. Sorry you can't comprehend the difference. My god, you are really starting to make yourself look even more foolish. -

That's not a fact.
The fact is that you fail to understand basic logic and can't even make a relevant point in this discussion.
If saying I never could have played D1 basketball makes you feel better in your poor argument, good for you. You got me...
And you comparing a D1 scholarship to the NBA is fitting of your arguments. -

To be fair, your last statement isn't true. I know the guy, and he could've played major D1 ball had he been really dedicated. -

I realize with the fuck were were discussing smart guy. And guess what, I would venture to say that MOST high school kids who get a full ride have no fucking clue what HARD work is. Most don't even hit their potential until college because thats when they are subjected to hard work and have no choice but to do so to survive. Hard work to get that full ride....no, not really. (big time college). I have had the luxury of being around big time D1 players, personally know guys in the NBA and NFL. We have had this same discussion about comparing what went on in high school compared to college. Hard work did NOT get them to college. Hard work in college got them to be the players they were, which then obviously propelled them into professional sports. -
thedynasty1998The thing that is being ignored and I think is interesting is that this tattoo parlor guy held onto this merchandise for a few years now. It leads me to believe that these guys sold these items with one contingency, that he couldn't sell anything until after they graduated. I mean the guy owns a tattoo parlor and he wants player jerseys, shoes and gold pants? I think he was protecting them by not selling, therefore, it just further proves that these guys knew what they did was wrong.

And to be fair, if I had a dollar for EVERY time I heard this statement...I'd have quite a bit of money. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.... -

LOL why would we need further proof? Even Spielman said he was told flat out, that you could NOT do what these guys did. And this was back when he played in the 80's. ITs common sense they knew what the fuck they were doing. And knew it was wrong.
But this practice of selling shit given to players...is ALL over the place with many, many players. Shit I bought a pair of turf shoes from a football player I knew. He also sold his cotton bowl watch to a friend of mine. I honestly believe this is common practice that goes unknown most of the time. But NO, its not ok to do, obviously. -

You are so outdated with reality that I always question when you say, "I know so and so". You might have known guys 20 years ago, but you don't know anyone today. And from my personal experiences, the hardest working kids are the one's that had the most success. That's reality. The hardest worker on my HS basketball team went D1. The hardest worker academically was the Valedictorian. The hardest working wrestler at my HS went on to wrestle at OSU and is an Olympic hopeful now. The hardest worker in the football program went on to a D1 scholarship and is now in the NFL.centralbucksfan;614717 wrote:I realize with the fuck were were discussing smart guy. Sure all were blessed in a specific way and it's easier to work hard when the results are proven, but these guys were not the exceptions to the rules. They were the rule. Hard work pays off. They all were highly motivated and accomplished their goals. -

Are you drunk today or what?
I read this three times and am not sure what your point is?
That they DID know it was wrong or DID NOT know it was wrong? -

You coudn't be MORE wrong little guy. I do. And I have no fucking reason to lie or prove otherwise to a knowitall like you. -

well, he did play in college on scholarship, just not D1. We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one cbf. -

My point is they did KNOW it was WRONG. Common fucking sense. Anyone who thinks otherwise is clueless. Like we need further proof with your statement?thedynasty1998;614735 wrote:Are you drunk today or what?

I was talking about big time D1. It wasn't that I didn't disagree nor disbelieve. He has mentioned he played DII MANY times. And I have no reason not to believe him. -

You get all fired up when I ask what the hell you were trying to say? Read it for yourself and tell me how someone would come to the conclusion that you meant it was wrong:

That's fine, but I really didn't know what your stance was. And how does your last paragraph support your statement that it's wrong? Really confused. -
TimberI guess what concerns myself and many others about this situation is what else? What else have these players (or other teammates) have done that they knew were wrong... and still went ahead and have done them regardless.
Things such as partying, staying out too late, not taking the coaches advice wanting to do things their own way. This type of behavior can keep a very good team from being a great team! That is what bothers me as a fan. I understand they are simply just doing things that many other students are doing, but as a high profile scholar/athlete it is unacceptable behavior in my opinion.
Go Bucks!
