I don't believe it as of right now or until I hear it from his mouth or from a Ohio State source -
lhslep134Just texted some of my media sources. NOT TRUE. Just some doosh trying to make a name for himself trying to capitalize on the "perfect" storm of a time to start a rumor.

I don't think that he's ever claimed that he'll be done at a certain date. And I believe that his contract runs through 2014. -

The only name that he's going to make for himself is one as a guy who just makes stuff up. He'll never get a legit job in the media after this. -
september63Why did Chris Broussards name come up in a post? I know nothing about any of this, but remember, the Twitter post from Biddle was shot down as rhetoric and look where that ended up.

Ok. For some reason I thought he said 10 years or something and he was retiring. Maybe it's at the end of the contract. -

No the only thing I can remember him claiming was in 2001 at St John Arena at halftime of the basketball game that everyone here would be proud of the football team in 310 days in Ann arbor michigan.WebFire;613282 wrote:Isn't next year the last year that Tressel claimed he would coach anyway? -

Biddle not only followed NCAAFB, but OSUFB. This tard does neither -
september63I didnt see where Broussard was credited with the statement.

If that is in response to me, I was not responding to the Broussard portion -

It was a response to this. -

Pete Caroll, Urban Meyer, and Nick Saban have all done it recently. As a Notre Dame fan, Ara Parseghian, Dan Devine, and to a lesser extent Lou Holtz all left with gas still in the tank.
It's not too rare for someone to walk away from the top of college coaching, not everyone wants to be Joe Paterno. Sometimes the monotony and/or pressure get to you.
That said, no way in hell Tressel leaves. -

Meyer has had documented health issues, Saban has left jobs for more $$$ for his entire career, Carroll left before probation after the Bush incident. Holtz and Devine were going to be fired, or asked to leave.
Parseghian maybe. Ironically, he retired after the same season 6 of his players were suspended for rules violations!! -
gerb131I would only be cool with that if Spiels was to take over.

What exactly has Spiels done that warrants him getting any kind of consideration? He flopped in the arena league and other than that, he refuses to do what everybody else does (work their way up through the ranks).
This is Ohio State we're talking about, not OU. You just don't hire somebody with no sort of resume to go off of. The Ohio State job pretty much has a pre-req of being successful elsewhere as a head coach.
I would have a major problem if they hired Speils as/is. (No coaching/head coaching experience at the college level).
