How many games will the tOSU suspensions end up?

  • queencitybuckeye
Currently 5, IMO will almost without question be reduced.
  • slingshot4ever
    I say 3.

I don't think it really matters, Posey, Herron, Adams, and Pryor just had their decision on whether to go to the NFL or not made for them. I say they are all gone but I think the suspension will be reduced to 2 games.

Agreed. The appeal's result may be irrelevant, given the possibility of those involved going pro.

    This

It may be reduced, but 4 of these guys are talented enough to be drafted anyways.

    This.

Tress should just suspend them and take our ass beating by having to play Kenny Guiton and whoever else in the Sugar Bowl

I really don't think they will get reduced at all. I don't remember hearing of any situation where the NCAA grants an appeal.

I hope no one sprains a knee or ankle jumping off the bandwagon. :)

How these guys are eligible for the bowl game is a joke. It just goes to show that the NCAA is all about one thing - money. The NCAA just doesn't want one of its premiere bowl games to be irrelevant. The NCAA is simply trying to keep that game competitive by allowing those players to partake in the game. The alleged violations occurred in 2009 for Christ sakes.

Jumping off what bandwagon exactly? Nobody is saying they don't care about Ohio State anymore. Most are saying they want nothing to do with these pieces of garbage.

    5. AJ Green's suspension was upheld and the extra game the school gave them has to stay IMO.

So making a bad decision makes them "garbage"? You did worse things by that age (and if you didn't, you are one lame-ass pussy). Are you garbage?

I don't know if it makes them garbage, but it makes you think of them in an entirely different light than just an 18-22 year old kid that you liked to watch play football. Tells you an awful lot about where their priorities are and can possibly give you a little bit of a glimpse into what kind of person they're going to be later in life

i think 5 games is way too severe. i dont know 4 of the players involved but i have met danny herron and spoken with him on a few occassions. i take exception to you calling him a piece of shit. if you knew him you wouldnt say that. danny is a fine upstanding hard working young man that comes from a great family.

The coach should bench these guys if he has any dignity. Probably doesnt want to lose and OSU be O-H and 1-0

I'd look at the mitigating circumstances as being the thing that makes their action worse than actions that I or someone else has done that, in actuality, are worse.

You can look at it as sports having an unhealthy amount of influence upon the lives of people, but if you're a fan of the program who takes the "cheer for the school over the name on the back of the jersey" attitude, an act like this could be seen as utter bullshit on the part of the players involved. Committing violations that compromise the integrity of the school AND due to suspensions, run the risk of hurting the on-field performance of the team. Casually selling the sort of reward items a lot of fans would die to have in a way that gives the impression they really don't care about Ohio State or what they're doing as a representative of the school.

Sure, I've done worse, but my failings and BS actions tend to only piss off or let down a tiny group of people — not the entire fanbase of a really, really large college.

"a" bad decision? Have you been following any of this? There is the tattoo situation and now selling of the championship ring and gold pants? Tells me everything I need to know about them. They know the rules and they completely disregarded them. They probably just caused the whole program to get investigated and this will eventually lead to penalties in all likelihood. So yes, I say they are garbage.

The groundswell in Cols will be to sacrifice the Sugar Bowl and dump the trash now. How could the Seniors on this team play beside these fuckers? Go with the kids that play by the rules or don't go at all Tress.

Troy Smith made a mistake, was punished, then won a Heisman, and I would venture a guess that 99% of OSU fans - including myself -- rooted like crazy for him every step of the way.

If these 5 guys play in the Sugar Bowl, while bittersweet, I will root for them as well. They made mistakes, but they are Buckeyes, and the punishments have been issued. My name is BAB, not GOD, no judgement from me is necessary here. Lets kick Arkansas' ass!!!
  • darbypitcher22
I'm sorry... to me there's a big difference between what Troy did and what these guys did.... they spit on the tradition of Ohio State football

Agreed, but these are a bunch of stupid kids who made mistakes. I am not happy with them, but if they are wearing Buckeye jerseys on January 4, I wil be pulling for them to help beat Arkansas.

You're probably right BAB...most Buckeye Nationals kiss the ground these a-holes walk on. And that shit is what got us here in the first place. Some rich, fat white dude who never played a sport in his life offering a couple Gs to a college kid for his gold pants. Kick Arkansas ass is right but do it with the team players that follow the rules. Not these "ni__er rich" thugs.
