How many games will the tOSU suspensions end up?

  • that_guy
Marcell Dareus got 2 games for getting $2K from an agent. This situation doesn't even involve an agent, so shouldn't be anymore than 2 games.

The players made a mistake, it happened a while ago, to me this doesn't change my thoughts on any of those involved. They were given gifts, and they sold them, unfortunately that's a violation and they will be punished, but the punishment should fit the crime, and the crime doesn't seem all that significant to me...

Typing that racist crap is much worse than anything these players did.

I see your point, and I am torn on this to be honest. Is it fair to the other guys on the team to significantly decrease their chance of victory in a huge bowl game based on the bad decisions of 5 knuckleheads? Then again, does it set a bad example for these guys to ever wear a Buckeye jersey again? I see both sides, I do ... what a shitty day, I was excited to have my first day of vacation start today, now this.

This is more than stupid. It was colossally stupid and selfish to boot. There is no way they weren't aware that this was against the rules....otherwise they wouldn't be doing this with such shady counterparties.

Well tell Danny sorry for me and that I hope it was worth the $1150 he got for his Jersey, Pants and Shoes he sold that weren't his to sell! Also I have some jerseys at my house he could sell too if he will split the profits with me.

You are soooo naive...their own teammates are calling them this.

It is one of those situations where it's easy to be torn on. I remember reading a few years back the variety of opinions that came from Satch Sullinger suspending Jared for a playoff game (which they lost) because he skipped a class (or some other academic no-no under his rules for athletic participation) his freshman year. On one hand, he showed that, even if it was his son, rules are rules and if you break them, you will be punished. On the other, you had to feel for the seniors on the team who saw their high school careers end prematurely due to a stud being out for the game.

OTOH, the "counterparties" haven't done anything remotely illegal.

i could see them being reduced to 2 games... just in time for the Miami Game

I'm thinking the opposite, that the NCAA will want to make tOSU take a figurative "perp walk" on regional TV for the Miami game.

You're probably right BAB...most Buckeye Nationals kiss the ground these a-holes walk on. And that shit is what got us here in the first place. Some rich, fat white dude who never played a sport in his life offering a couple Gs to a college kid for his gold pants. Kick Arkansas ass is right but do it with the team players that follow the rules. Not these "ni__er rich" thugs.

you know with comments like that , maybe that is why so many has a bad tastes for buckeye fans. that racist remark is totally uncalled for and unwarranted.

    Good point.

Did anyone watch college football live and their thoughts, especially Mark Mays?
  • Automatik
I thought Mark May was just being his normal self. Agree with the comments about the athletes "not knowing."

Fuck that noise....they knew what they did and got caught. The entire situation is mindblowing to me.....sooo fucking stupid.

Is there any precedent for the NCAA reducing suspensions? I know pretty much every high profile suspension has appealed and to my knowledge, few, if any are reduced.

Indeed, nothing illegal about it, but they had to know this would blow eligibility guidelines. There is absolutely nothing illegal about any of these guys getting comped for tats or selling memorabilia, they just can't expect to maintain full eligibility while engaging in such behavior (and getting caught).

Seeing as how they did not reduce A.J. Green's, and it was virtually the same thing, I do not see them "reducing" these gentlemen's.
  • darbypitcher22
they actually sold more than AJ Green did. If they get reduced you would expect Georgia to be up in arms
  • Ty Webb
NCAA already set a precedent with this kind of situation with A.J Green, but that won't matter because the NCAA has their lips firmly planted on Ohio State's ass
  • darbypitcher22

    how so?

Normally OSU gets fucked in the ass when it comes to shit like this

Didn't Dareus from Alabama do something similar and only get 2 games? The NCAA is so random about how they levy punishments
  • darbypitcher22
I think Dareus took like 2K and a trip to Miami from an agent
