I wonder if they'll win the conference championship next season in football? I wonder if they'll win a game in basketball?

Wow, Boise joins the MWC, a move that made it a legitimate BCS worthy conference. Defections of Utah and TCU turn it into the same type of conference that Boise left.

Good, then they'll soon be able to shut the hell up about national titles when they end up middle of the road. See Louisville as an example of a team who thought they were ready for national title contention and then sunk into mediocrity once they hit the "big time".

Hell, this will probably help Boise's national title hopes. Since they don't really have to beat more than one team to have people hanging on their jocks...just gotta beat Nevada when they join up again.

Wow, let's see how they do against the big boys now.

I don't see why the big twelve wouldn't want to snatch them and Boise up so it could be a big 12 again.

I don't think anyone but Texas' bitches in the Big 12 North thinks it will realistically last more than about 5 years.

The Big 12 won't get anyone but some lowly school that wants some recognition. Texas has everyone in the Big 12 by the balls, so why would anyone want to join. The Big 12 will be a thing of the past within' a couple years, as most schools will defect and Texas will go independent.

    Desperate move by the BE.

UConn and Cuse have to be pissed - they should be begging the ACC to take them.

I thought the Big East was a joke conference... Now it's a Big Boy conference?

Depends on what you're comparing it to.

    v. MWC = Big Boy
    v. SEC = Joke

It's the worst of the best... but if no other BCS conference is going to take you, you have to get your foot in that door.

It was in response to people saying Rich Rod was a shitty coach because the Big East was shitty.

I was trying to be clever and failed....fuck you all.

Dude, it's not your fault your wit went over our heads. With so many trolls out these days it's hard to sort the trolls from the witty.

Anyone know how this will affect the BCS? What I mean by that is every what, 2 or 3 years?, the BCS re-evaluates based on certain criteria who deserves AQ status, and if I'm not wrong, I think the MWC is very close to meeting the criteria, especially since TCU is going to a BCS game this year and will most likely finish in the top 10 even if they lose. But if TCU joins the Big East, does the MWC lose that criteria? I would assume no, so would the BCS step in and say because TCU and Utah left, they are subjectively removing the MWC from consideration despite objectively meeting the criteria?

I know it's someone not many other people care about, but I'm very curious to find out.

Good for TCU, they can now become irrelevant.

Considering they won't even say how they're are weighing their criteria, I'd say all that is going to remain anyone's guess. Whatever explanation they come up with, I'm guessing the MWC is not going to get an autobid and the Big East is not going to lose its autobid.

EDIT: So actually, I found an article that appears to lay it out pretty specifically. Even before the defections, thus far the MWC wouldn't qualify because they're only meeting 2 of the 3 criteria. This year might help...next year almost assuredly won't.

Also good for some other points about topics discussed here.

Per the bottom of the article:
And if the top of the Mountain West remains excellent and the bottom half gets better, the league will earn an automatic bid
    .

I think the MWC did enough this year to warrant AQ status for the next time it changes (2012). Wonder how the BCS will spin this one....
  • bigkahuna
My guess will be what you said. "Since Utah, BYU, and TCU left, you are now shit. You will not be receiving an Auto Bid."

I feel bad for Boise, they truly try to better themselves. They go out and schedule games with whoever wants to play them. They decide to change leagues, a league with the 3 that I mentioned above. Then, their conferences best teams (Fresno St, Nevada, and Hawaii-possibly) decide to follow, to make the MWC pretty much legit. Now, the top 3 of the MWC are leaving, so Boise is back to square 1. What else can they do?
  • jordo212000
Man if TCU would have stayed in the Mtn West they would have probably received AQ status eventually anyways. That would have been a good conference if everybody stuck around. Boise is right back where they started haha
  • Iliketurtles
I think it's funny how everyone is now saying that TCU is going to get rocked in the Big East when many on here have considered the MWC better than the Big East for the last 2-3 seasons.

As for the MWC there is no way they will get AQ status now and it really sucks for BSU because now they are pretty much in a conference just like the WAC hopefully they can join a BCS conference soon.

Basically this. Although lately the Big East has been on par with the WAC and MWC, except teams from those conferences dont get blown out in BCS games

Uh...they're going to the Big Least, not a big-boy conference in football. The Mountain West of this year would roll that conference's allotment of 4-5 loss "championship contenders".

I see my sarcasm was lost on you as well lol.

Everyone knows the big east has been a joke in football last couple years.
