Everyone being so high on Wisconsin, and MSU/OSU for that matter
-
cats gone wildI think people are basing the Wisconsin season on the last 4 games vs. Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, and Northwestern. Do you guys realize they are spanking little sisters of the poor? Before that they barely, I mean barely beat Iowa and really didnt clobber any teams but Austin Peay (whoever they are).
Wisconsin is only 1-1 vs. ranked teams this year. Whats the big deal about that? And they looked pitiful vs. ASU.
MSU is 1-0 vs. ranked teams this year.
OSU is 0-1 vs. ranked teams this year.
How are these three teams ranked in the top 10? It shouldnt go just by losses, it should go by who they played and their losses. In which NONE of these 3 teams played anyone. This is the big secret on why the B10 has 3 highly ranked teams and no one else in the B10 is ranked. I would like to know the opponents winning % that these 3 teams have faced all year.
I will let this get heated up for awhile before I take a gander at all the excuses.
Pitiful. -
vball10setas pitiful as you being a pussy for having me on your ignore list 'cause you can't handle the truth about your over-rated pussycats?

Scarlet_FeverBlah Blah Blah Blah. SEC is King everyone else sucks. Top to bottom the SEC is usually the best. Not so sure this year. Teams can get better you know. I think the SEC will take a beating in it's bowls this year except for if Auburn gets to play Oregon and will thump them. Like I said. The bowls will tell a lot more. Even with the SEC getting to play most of it's games at home.

The Big Ten is the toughest conference. If you can get through the conference with only 1 loss, you deserve to be the in top 10 nationally, and this is before Nebraska joins, a team in its own right that would win most conferences 8 of 10 years. -

Well, that's not true. I didn't pass on reading because it was too long, but because of who wrote it. -
Terry_TateNo other Big Ten teams would be ranked since the next 5 are fairly equal and most of them have 3 losses to Wisconsin, OSU and MSU.
-
Cleveland BuckThe Big Ten has 3 very good teams that beat up on the others and 5 good teams that beat up on each other. And the polls are meaningless simply because of the SEC bias, so using the number of ranked teams someone played is stupid at best.

enigmaaxIf I get time, I'll do a comparison to some other top teams but if nothing else then you can at least see where he's coming from on Wisconsin as they've played the worst schedule of the tri-champs, lost to Mich State head-to-head and are still going to get the autobid.
Overall Record of Opponents
Michigan State 72-69 (.511)
Ohio State 72-71 (.503)
Wisconsin 65-77 (.458)
Record of Teams Beaten
Michigan State 65-64 (.504)
Ohio State 61-70 (.466)

Technically...no. OSU is 4-1 against teams who were ranked at one time or another in the Top 25 this season.cats gone wild;579359 wrote:OSU is 0-1 vs. ranked teams this year. -
centralbucksfanLMAO, LMAO...I knew a thread like this was coming sooner or later. Now that other conferences have caught up to the big bad SEC...its time for our local SEC chest thumpers to come up with EXCUSES!! Comical and perfect timing!! I wouldn't expect anything less from Cats. Give him credit though..he is still here while many of the other SEC pussy bolted long ago when the hand writing was on the wall!

bigkahunaAt the time of the game.
MSU is 2-1 against ranked teams.
OSU is 2-1 against ranked teams.
Wisconsin is 2-1 against ranked teams. -

Where did you come up with "other conferences have caught up with the big bad SEC"? The SEC still has 6 ranked teams, (more than any other conference), two teams with a losing record (less than any other conference), and went 41-7 OOC (better than any other conference).
The Big Ten has 3 teams with 11 wins (more than anyone else), two of which didn't play each other. The Big XII has 4 teams with 10 wins (more than anyone else). That makes both of those look pretty good, I'll give you that. Then the SEC has 5 teams with 9 wins (same as the Big XII) and 6 teams with 8 wins (more than anyone else).
So what is it you are basing this "caught up" on? -
HitsRusGood chance OSU gets matched up against Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl...guess we'll find out then.

what Ohio State would really like would be a "part" of Florida or LSU, but they won't be ranked high enough to be invited to a prestigious BCS bowl...back to rebuilding, fella'sTy Webb;579635 wrote:I don't know if Ohio State wants any part of Arkansas -

cats gone wildMan, people are touchy and took the bait. This argument was basically towards Wisconsin and the Big 10 as whole. People, dont let facts get in the way that the top 3 teams in the big 10 have only played 4 games vs. ranked teams all year. What matters is what teams are ranked at the end of the year, not the beginning when no one knew anything about them. Kinda crazy, but LSU has played more ranked teams than the top 3 Big 10 teams combined.
Gordon Gee has NO ROOM at all to talk about beating up the sisters of the poor. Boise and TCU played ranked teams this year and they play in a nobody conference. But its OK for the B10 to play nobodies in a weak conference. Cbf, I repect you as a poster alot, but you are out of your mind if you think the Big 10 has caught up. If the big 3 of the Big10 played 5 ranked teams this year, they would probably have 2 or more losses, especially pitiful MSU> -

They ignore the facts, so you might as well not post them. When will the Big 10 ever get away from creampuff schedules? The SEC west is better than any conference top to bottom.
vball, I dont even read your posts when someone quotes you......fyi -

And the SEC East was on by a team with 3 freaking losses. The next best team was 4-4!
Creampuff schedules? You mean playing teams like this:
Tenn Tech
Louisiana-Monroe*
McNeese State
San Jose St.
Duke
Georgia St (1st year football program)
Need I go further? Those are just a few off the top of my head...
