TCU Athletic Director Fires Back

Gee is a jerk. I hope TCU hands OSU their lunch in a bowl.

    ^^^^

kind of had a feeling that one was coming.

I applaud them for stepping up and playing one big time opponent. But winning one game against a big boy like that doesn't mean you've officially arrived yet either

I promise you every BCS school president is thinking the same thing but won't say it to the media as Gee did. The 6 major conf's do not want them in the game.

I would love for the Bucks to play TCU! I lived in the Fort Worth area for about 3 years and even before TCU was any good they thought their shit didn't stink. OSU would roll TCU and beat Boise.

I am praying that they both play in BCS Bowls!!

i don't know about that, but you can guarantee that after those comments, if the Bucks win on Saturday, a bowl who gets a shot to pair OSU up against one of them will be sure to do it
  • Fab1b
If OSU and TCU/BSU meet in a bowl and OSU does win then everyone will say they beat a midmajor and no credit will be given because TCU/BSU gets exposed. It is a no win for OSU or any big conf school in a game like that. I mean Okla gets killed for losing that Fiesta Bowl but had they'd won it would have been you are supposed to win no big deal!

I have never been impressed with TCU I really don't think they are that great like everyone else thinks they are. Boise is the better of the two teams and they have proven that.

OSU would beat TCU by 14+
OSU would beat Boise by 3+

weird, i've always considered Gee a very nice guy. Always around campus and stopping in places you wouldn't expect him to be. If OSU and TCU were to play in a bowl game, i don't doubt that TCU could win, but handing OSU their lunch is a reach.

 was he in the National Guard at Kent State too??

So in addition to the post on the other thread, which pointed out that TCU wouldn't make the move to play Ohio State (with a direct quote about how OSU wasn't interested in a return trip), do these guys forget about the last 35 years they tried a big time conference? How many winning seasons was that - can we count them on one hand? Can't say I can blame them for trying, but please...who is really buying this nonsense? Enjoy your moderate success and your inflated respect, take your money, then know your role and shut the fuck up.

    Well said.

And for whoever said Gee is a jerk, you've obviously never met him. He showed up at a pregame for one of my friends 21st birthdays at her apartment. How he knew is beyond me, but drinking and talking to a university president is fucking awesome (he wasn't drinking of course).

Same bullshit Boise was spewing. Turns out they changed their mind when some teams gave them the opportunity to live up to "anytime. anyplace. anyone." Then they wanted a 1 and 1, with $1 million-plus added on when they visit you.

Boise St and TCU are playing the roles of media darlings to a "T".

Nobody gives a shit about those two schools. They've had a short stint of success and all of a sudden act like their programs deserve everything to fall into their laps.

You can say what you want about schedules, but Boise St and TCU plays TERRIBLE overall schedules.

exactly--they figure they may as well make money while they're hot, 'cause it ain't going to last forever

If TCU or Boise would play Ohio State and beat them, would they finally get the credit they deserve?

That sounds pretty awesome. I've had some friends say hey, who's that dorky lookin' guy in the bowtie? and I immediately must say, that man is fucking awesome!

BSU and TCU have proven they can beat some pretty good teams on a once or twice a season basis. I'm sorry but when you look at their schedule compared to other BCS schools it's a lot different.

Would a team feel safer playing an ok team like Toledo, Hawaii, or Fresno State with 3 or 4 losses.....or.....playing 'ok' teams from a BCS conference with 3 or 4 losses like Iowa, Penn State, Missouri, Texas A&M, etc? Would a team feel safer having their 'big' conference game against a 1-loss Nevada team, or having to play teams like Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Alabama, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, or one of the other big-time 1-2 loss teams from a BCS conference? They just don't compare at all.

OSU would get beat by both TCU and Boise St. OSU's defense has holes (see Wisconsin). Speaking of Wisconsin they might just draw Boise St.

Ok teams are safe teams. You are believing in an illusion. Reality is going to come your way when bowl time is here. I can't wait.

Strength of schedule has ZERO to do with the strength of teams. Nothing more inflated than SOS.

Boise State's schedule isn't much worse than Ohio State's.

Name me someone from the Big East that plays a solid schedule. Boise or TCU don't have to play an SEC-like schedule, they just have to play a schedule on par with someone from the ACC or Big East because those teams get an automatic berth. I don't think anyone here can honestly say TCU or Boise State wouldn't run the train on the teams from the Big East this season. That alone make every argument about tough schedules invalid, since the Big East is just that bad.
