Noter Dame not talking about suicide victim who claimed to be attacked by football

  • karen lotz
Again, there were two cases similar to this before at ND, although not with the suicide. In 1998 (I think), a player was accused of rape and was immediately off the team and expelled from school. After that incident was investigated, there were no charges filed against the player. The second in 2002 4 players were accused of rape and again, all 4 were immediately thrown out of school and off of the team. 2 of those players were not charged with anything, one was acquitted completely and the 4th was found guilty of a lesser charge. In each of these cases, the football coach/AD had absolutely no say in what happened to the players, it was a university matter, just as this case is a university matter. The fact that the university allowed the player to not only stay in school, but still remain on the team might be an indication to the validity of the story. The girl had already been on medication for depression/anxiety issues and had transferred from another college due to a similar situation. If it turns out that there was indeed a sexual crime committed, the accused player will not be on the team and will be expelled from the University as he should be.

When the HC himself demands a student assistant climb a swaying tower in a wind storm I doubt there is much focus on overall safety involving the rest of the team either. And that lack of focus spilled over into an unsafe incident involving sexual assault. Believe me out of respect for the victims families it pains me greatly to have to write these words but someone has to shine the light under the rug.

I absolutely understand that tiernan and I agree. Where ND gets in trouble with me is: 1. if they attempted to lie or sweep this under the rug and 2. if it is obvious that Kelly is not promoting the correct kind of environment.

My point is that it is more important for justice to be brought upon the young man IF THIS TURNS OUT TO BE TRUE. At least that is my opinion because at that age I would still expect a person to rise above a less than ideal environment.

I believe that we are in agreement on this. It is just a terrible tragedy and I hope that the powers that be can get to the bottom of it.

That being said, if this were OSU or any other major team, it would be NEWS and MANY(namely one individual on this thread) would be all over it. So please dont' feed me the bs of this or that because its ND.

I also happen to believe ND tends to keep things VERY tight in terms of situations like this. They are good at...well, sweeping things under the rug when possible. The other distrubing part about this..is if this happened and was reported by on Sept 1st...why is it just now, almost 3 months later, getting passed onto the DA? And why is the athlete in question still playing/suiting up? I realize innocent until proven guilty. But IF something did NOT happen, then this would be done and over with. But 3 months later...?? Scratching my head on this a bit.
The woman in question was obviously mentally ill. But, if this situation put her over the edge...that makes it even more sad.

Who even said anything about it being news or "this or that" only because it's ND? I agree with you about it being news at another big school but you jumped the gun on that one as nobody said otherwise.

You would think after something like the Duke Lacrosse case...the general public wouldn't be so quick to jump on athletes accused of these things.

Let the process take its toll. If the player is found out that he did something this horrible, it will be dealt with by the University. But why crucify a kid if it turns out to be nothing but smoke.

ND is so bad, people are just dying to get out.

And they're the only ones who think they're cool. You know, the jerkoffs who high-five each other when everybody else is laughing at them.

Live a little man. You're favorite college football team is garbage, they aren't winning for the next 3,000 years(odds are you'll be dead by then), learn to laugh at it, it'll make it easier.

You are favorite college football team?? You sound just like ncf, tiernan, and ccrunner. I thought they taught you better at OSU?

So you admit your post was useless? About time.

So say the poor girl did get raped. She clearly deserves more sympathy than all the other awful situations that countless other females go through as well. Put any school followed by football player after, especially ND where we do like to consider our guys are held to a high standard, and you get a clusterfuck of people spreading rumors and talking out of their asses.

Bottom line, OSU and ND have the same chances at a national championship this year. LOL

They taught us not to proofread useless things? Must have missed that class.

I'm not sure what's worse, Notre Dame's football program or the collective spelling and grammar of the pinheads on here.

Unfortunately most of us folks were raised by hard working middle class parents who couldn't afford to send us to fancy ass private prep schools where everyone wore J Crew and Banana Republic gear, like some silver spoon "My Daddy Is Rich" buffoons on here.

Well according to sleeper anyone who graduates from Ohio State is in the top tax bracket, didn't you know that?

Maybe if you weren't such a douche someone would give you a better job? Don't really know what you're trying to say. You're a dipshit, no amount of "fancy ass private prep schools" could change that buddy.

You missed Sleeper's point completely Preppy McPrepster...he said "once you finally graduate from OSU then you are in the upper tax brackets (which I am). But growing up we went to blue collar public schools and learned the value of a dollar and din't have the Butler drop us off each morning at St. Sister of the Almightys private prep school for the rich and snotty. No we had to earn every thing that ever came our way J Crew Boy (you're already regretting ever revealing that little nugget ain't ya?)

Haha no I said on the "Why Are White People Afraid Of Minorities" thread or whatever that contemporary racism isn't so much belief in racial inferiority but just fear because of how innercity people tend to dress. Suburbanites don't wear Ecko or South Pole, and I've never seen someone wearing J. Crew or Banana Republic whom I was afraid of. My point was that suburbia, which is stereotypically white since the beginning of Levittown, would be afraid of someone of any race that was dressed "like the thug;" that is, huge baggy jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt with tattoos from head to toe. I believe that is widely the case.

Tiernan ignores the possibility that perhaps "hardworking middle class people," you know, work hard, and it generates wealth. "American Dream," eh? Heaven forbid a guy go and fight in Vietnam and then join the Corp of Engineers to become skilled enough to own and operate a road paving company. Somewhere in his fourteen-hour days he may have laid out plans for a butler, but the Agent Orange contact from being an FO in Vietnam gave him leukemia when I was ten, so I'll never know.

Maybe I'm not as rich as you think, or hope, and the government pays my tuition via a War Orphans Scholarship as long as I maintain excellent grades?

Maybe you should go fuck yourself. Your posting history is a litany of failure, every god damn one.
