Looks about right other than I don't think LSU or Stanford are really that great.

LSU @ Arkansas could be a big game next week in terms of the Rose Bowl, since they are between Wisconsin and OSU in the human polls. An LSU loss could be enough for the Bucks to pass Wisky up (I really have no idea how the calculations work... but it would definitely make things close).

I just noticed that Stanford jumped Ohio State in the Harris Poll. Talk about a joke. Stanford hasn't beaten a team all year as good as Iowa.

Stanford has beaten 3 teams all year with a winning record. They won't play another one. Ohio State has beaten 5 teams with winning records and still has one more to go.

If Wisconsin wins Saturday, they go to the Rose Bowl, plain and simple

If OSU jumps Wisconsin,it would be complete and total BS

No way OSU jumps Wisky if both win...that would be a travesty.

I agree, but would it really suprise you?

This week and Friday will really start to clear up things.

No problem with the standings really.

I cannot think of any plausible scenario where if both teams won, OSU would make up the over .05 difference and jump Wisconsin.

Honestly, it would. A head to head beatdown should be enough. And on the money side of things, Wisky is a pretty decent draw(from what I have heard), so any bowl would be tickled to have them.

    The simple counter-argument:
    Stanford 42 Arizona 17
    Arizona 34 Iowa 27
    Ohio State 20 Iowa 17

They beat the team that beat Iowa (Arizona). It seems about right to me. As of right now, they both have beaten only 1 ranked team, and Stanford's ranked team is ranked higher than OSU's ranked team. Also Stanford has the "better" loss.

Simple is a good word. Meaningless is a better one.

that makes about as much sense as..
    Oregon 38, Purdue 36
    Oregon 47, USC 20
    Ohio State 15, USC 18
    Ohio State 18, Purdue 26
    Ohio State 27, Oregon 16

i don't think Wisconsin loses at home on Senior Day against a banged up Northwestern who just got shredded for 330 on the ground by Illinois..

although I'll certainly be rooting for it to happen.

I don't know if Michigan State wins on Saturday either. They're 0-8 all time in Happy Valley.

And I certainly think that LSU is ripe to go down against Arkansas

You said "Stanford hasn't beaten a team all year as good as Iowa."

They crushed a team better than Iowa. Refute with facts please.

If Wisconsin should go over Ohio State why shouldn't MSU go over Wisconsin?

MSU has the worst loss between the 3.

Do you honestly believe that just because a team beat another team on a random ass Saturday, it makes them a better team??

Simple example, Iowa lost to Northwestern.

No, but unfortunately the way college football works, that is the only thing we can go by.

+1. Without a playoff, we're forced to make these kinds of comparisons

Oh, well that's a relief. I thought there was going to be all kinds of debate on if Boise State is deserving of a shot at the national title, but their best win is against a team worse than James Madison, so I guess that means they aren't deserving.

Va Tech lost to James Madison
    Ohio State beat Miami
    Va Tech beat Miami

How does James Madison stack up against Ohio State?

I love hearing fellow Buckeye fans bash Boise State/TCU's schedule. If Ohio State doesn't win the Big 10 championship, we can at least hang our hat on the fact that we were MAC champions this year.

Or we could just do the easiest thing which was stated first: look at the quality of teams that each team has beaten.
    Stanford 42 Arizona 17
    Arizona 34 Iowa 27
    Ohio State 20 Iowa 17
Don't try to validate the transitive property by adding a fourth variable to the equation. That only makes it less accurate that it already is by adding more variable change. That makes it more complicated than simple.

I know you love to rip Ohio State, but I didn't mention them. Just so we are clear, Virginia Tech is worse than James Madison, correct?
