Time for the annual "he's still playing?" thread

  • slcoach
Hadn't seen this one yet. I know non Buckeye fans have to feel like David Lightly has been at OSU for 16 years. A few others that I have seen in the first couple of weeks...

Gary Johnson Texas - I seen him last night and thought holy shit, that guy played with TJ Ford, I swear.

Austin Freeman - I mean come on.

    Mazzulla for West Virginia

Staying within the Big Ten ...

    Tisdale from Illinois
    Battle from Penn State
    Hoffarber from Minnesota

Taylor Battle is a great one. I think he was in high school when I was and I'm 28.

I was just going to say Tisdale from Illinois. Turned on my TV last night to watch some college basketball and saw him playing and thought I had turned on ESPN Classic.

Also, I'm sure non-OSU fans have to be thinking the same thing with David Lighty.

My only question is why the hell is Carl Krauser not still at Pittsburgh? He must of went pro early.

Will Graves would have been my choice, but alas. So I will have to go with a team choice this year. Kentucky has been playing for a long time.

David Lighty and Joe Mazulla are probably the two best ones. My God, they remind me of a guy that used to drive a mountain bike around Bowling Green State carrying a boombox radio. He was in college for at least two decades. IIRC, Lighty guarded Erik Barkley in the '99 Elite Eight. How many Final Fours has he been to now? Upon looking, I guess just the one.

    Lightly, Battle, Tisdale.

I can't wait until Devin Booker is a senior, we will have had 7 years of booker, and there is a third brother...

    But for this thread, Lighty.

Davis and Tisdale have been forming the weakest front court in the country since I can remember. I'm pretty sure they were both in Cory Bradford's recruiting class.

Brad Wanamaker has been at Pitt forever too.

Matt Howard @ Butler has seemingly played for 15 years.
  • ernest_t_bass
I always thought Paul Davis was at Michigan State for 17 years.

Ha it's gotta be Lighty. I saw some highlights of the Florida/OSU national title and I was like whoa I forgot he played with us way back then. Great player though and lucky to have my Facebook profile pic with him lol

Haha, nice pic. Lighty has quietly become one of my favorite Buckeyes of all-time.

Malcolm Delaney from Virginia Tech- Although as Gotleib said, you could see why in the Kansas State game.

This is a football one, but I always think of Grandpa Evan Royster at Penn State
  • Laley23
The whole Illinois team (McCamey, Tisdale, Davis)
    Matt Howard - Butler
    Lighty - OSU
Freeman - G'Town (amazing is I think he was on my list last year lol)
    Summers - MSU
  • Azubuike24
Alex Tyus. It's only his fourth year, but it doesn't help the fact that his hairline (or lack thereof) makes him look like he's 35.

Is Sosa out of eligibility at Louisville?
  • Ironman92
Was Lighty with Oden and Conley? lol

Oden is nearly an NBA retiree and Conley has played about 5 years it seems in the NBA.

The football ones are much more evident. I swear Carlos Huerta (Miami) and Hayden Epstein (Michigan) played for at least 10 years.

On the football side, Stanley Havili at USC and Colin Kaepernick at Nevada.

Another guy I noticed during "Feast Week"

    Antonio Pena - Villanova
