  The thing about his offense though is that it's so reliant on the talent that he has. His offense can score lots of points (like it's done this year) if he has the right kind of athletes in his system. When he doesn't have a Pat White or Denard Robinson taking the snaps his offense isn't as effective. The only problem with this is that it really limits the pool of talent that Michigan can recruit from. They can't go after the best quarterback available because if it's someone like Ryan Mallet he won't fit their system. He can only go after the best mobile QB available. That means fewer players to recruit from with just as many teams going after them. A school like Ohio State that doesn't run one specific offensive system can be successful and win games with a game manager like Krenzel, a running QB like Smith, a pocket passer like Boeckman, or a hybrid like Pryor.

  This is and has been my thoughts as well. The Denards and Pat Whites won't be there every year. I just don't know whether or not the AD, alumni etc. take this into consideration. Then of course there could be the drop in sending players to the league, always been high at UM. I could be wrong, but I don't see that number staying high should they continue to run this system.

  I think he's gotta win one or the other to keep his job. He hasn't performed well in big games either at Michigan, let alone winning ( I don't consider one win over Notre Dame a big game when both teams were down). If they lose, they better lose in double OT or something crazy by 3 pts or less and at least show his club was in the game

  I have heard from someone I know up in AnnArbor that rumors are going around that UM basically has a buyout check waiting once the season is over. He said that big money UM people want RR out as soon as possible. I don't know how valid it is, could be just a rumor...but I know that he isn't a personal favorite of too many at UM. If he loses the last two games, him getting canned isn't out of the question with all thats gone on at UM the past three years.

  Most teams have systems that allow at least a little flexibility. You're well aware that Rich Rod's system is fairly finite. So talent in general is more likely the case.

  I understand the point. But I think it's fair to say if you take most teams' best player away it would hurt them. I think the point is exaggerated a bit in krambman's post. Michigan seems to do fine with Forcier in, and he's not the same type as Robinson.

  I agree to an extent. But Tate seems to throw the bad, bad pick at points where it kills them. IDK it's kinda tough to pass judgment given the lack of playing time to compare.

  I think Rich Rod gets 1 more season and the final on his contract, but I think he is gone after next year. There doesn't look to be much hope for his defense to get better anytime soon and the team will endure a similar season next year as they have this year.
