Yes, I hear the name of it all the time.

As long as I can watch the game on TV from the comfort of my couch I don't really care what network it is on!

Does anyone else have trouble with Fox? Mine stretches so you can't see the full score to the top left. I noticed it during the MLB playoffs and again the other day watching NYG/DAL.

The Big Ten doesn't allow any prime time games after October, all games kickoff at 12:00 or 3:30 in November by Big Ten rule, so I doubt that they would have that rule and then play the championship game at 8:00. That seems strange to me.
$$$ I don't know, krambman--I wouldn't be surprised at all to see an alteration of this rule $$$

Big Ten officials said Wednesday at conference headquarters in Park Ridge, Ill. that the inaugural Big Ten Football Championship Game will be played in prime time on December 3, 2011, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

There is it, there was no doubt about it in my mind. I bet BTN will have all day pregame.

I just saw that it was reported that FOX is paying $20 million for each game! It was originally estimated that the Big Ten would get between $13-15 million per game. That's a ton of money and equates to almost a million dollars per school each season if that money is distributed evenly (although it's more likely that after expenses are paid and the conference office gets their cut that each school will probably get $500,000 a year and then the two schools that make the title game will get a bit more). Once again the Big Ten is proving that they are the most valuable conference in the country. Each Big Ten team already gets a lot more money annually than any other conference in the country and now they will have the most lucrative TV contract for the title game. No wonder so many teams want to get into the Big Ten.

On a side note, every Big Ten school will now be making WAY more money than Notre Dame does between NBC and the Big East.

You're right kramb, I'm sure this news along with your side note has Swarbrick on the next thing smoking to Delany's office to discuss ND joining.
  • Tiernan
The Big 10 wouldn't let Nancy Dame into the league now. They had their chance and blew it. Go knock on the Big East's door heard they were lookin' for teams.

I miss the OLD, pre-ESPN ABC broadcasts with Keith Jackson. That guy would always set the stage just right, perfect for college football. FOX has all those stupid graphics and fucking robots, just turns my stomach watching their college games.

I'm not saying that their going to jump right in. I'm just saying that the gap that already exists is getting bigger and will continue to get bigger in future years. Eventually the gap will be too big for the powers at ND to ignore and they will be forced to join a conference. I just hope that they realize this before it's too late and are forced to join the Big East. And let's not forget that it's not just the athletic money that the Big Ten has to offer Notre Dame, but also membership in the CIC which would save the university money.

I don't want this to turn into ND/Big Ten because its been discussed about 48 times already on here. I'm sure ND realizes what is going on and everything you have said regarding them is money related. Maybe from ND's perspective there is more to the decision than just money. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion and I don't have an issue with it. Back to the topic at hand.

I agree with BAB about the game production of FOX, those robots and extras they add in are hideous. Who will do sideline reporting? Kenny Albert?

^^LOL--he looks like his old man :p

  • karen lotz
Indeed he look like Marv with a hint of Gibby added in, if you catch my drift. I wonder if he likes to bite women as well?
  • vball10set
    LOL--love the Gibby reference
  • ytownfootball

The only one who should feel attacked is Kenny Albert.

You need to reconstruct your jaw line. Watch a few episodes of nip tuck or something. Learn something in regards to the very necessary elective procedure.

I would think you'd take this as a compliment--that's the way we meant it :p
