Ohio State...
-
sleeperThey have the best win of any team right now, should they be ranked #1?
The game wasn't even close. -
Hb31187Rankings dont mean shit in College bball for the most part
-
believerOne game against an obviously overrated Florida squad and the Buckeyes should vault to #1? I agree....College basketball rankings don't mean squat. Let's just see how the season pans out and let March Madness determine who's #1 shall we?
-
ernest_t_bassThey're better than #1. gotta be.
-
thedynasty1998Although this is a dumb topic, I actually think that they will spend some time at #1 this year. They won't lose in their first 13 games and really should be the best team in the Big 10. Duke will be damn good, but I actually like OSU against them.
-
Fly4FunI think this team could very well be better than the 2007 runner-up team and they were going against a very special Florida team. I like their chances to make the final four and have a shot at it all.
-
TimberNaw... I love the Bucks, but I do not see justifying the jump to number one after two games... because one team was rated tenth. Possibly a spot or two, but not to Number 1 (yet)

It won't happen, but let's look at the AP poll, in which OSU is #4. After last nights win, they certainly have as much hype around them as anyone, so people know they are good.
Kansas State is #3 - They play Gonzaga next week and Florida Dec. 18th
Michigan State is #2 - Plays Duke on Dec. 1st, Syracuse on Dec. 7 and Texas Dec. 22
Duke #1 - Michigan State on Dec. 1st and Butler on the 4th, also have games against Oregon and Marquette the 2 games prior
Hard to predict at this point who wins and loses, but let's say it works out where all 3 above lose a game. OSU doesn't really even get tested again, other than Florida State (whom OSU will kill) until maybe December 31st @Indiana. They don't play a currently ranked team again until January 22nd, so OSU could easily start the season 19-0 before seeing another ranked team.
Pretty pathetic when you look at it. -

I agree that the rankings dont mean anything at this point.
Why is Florida "obviously overrated"? Because Ohio State dominated them...... They return 4 starters from a team that went to the sweet sixteen, add what is arguably the best recruiting class in the country and maybe OSU is just that good. -
thedynasty1998Florida just got beat by a better team, they are not overrated. They have a very good team.
-
lhslep134Dynasty, I think Florida will beat KSU because KSU isn't as well rounded as OSU.

I actually think MSU will be the best team in the big 10. Return 7 of the top 9 from a final 4 run that they made in part without the pre season big ten POY. And they add 2 mcdonalds all americans to the roster, and Payne is really playing well in limited minutes...im impressed with him. And of course, the best coach in the Big Ten and arguably the nationthedynasty1998;562226 wrote:Although this is a dumb topic, I actually think that they will spend some time at #1 this year. TiernanCBB unlike CFB has the greatest post - season sports tournament on the planet and being "ranked" during the regular season is meaningless and actually kinda stupid. I hope the Bucks are cruising to the Final 4 in April rather than being ranked no. 1 in Nov.

Here we go. Everytime OSU beats up on someone, they are overrated. Give it a rest. I personally think Fla is pretty good and will have a good season before its all said and done.
As far as rankings...they don't mean much at all right now. Who cares. Nice to be in top 10 and I'd like to see them stay there for the year. Duke will sit at #1 for most if not all season IMO. -
Ty WebbOhio State will get their lunch handed to them by Duke

Well, OSU returns 4 of 5 starters, THE top HS player in the country and another McDonald All American in Thomas. I think it will be a dog fight till the end in the Big Ten. But if last nite was any preview at all of what OSU could be like...I like our chances to be right there with MSU. Matta has a pretty good track record in the Big Ten AND vs MSU. -

Hmmm, when do we play Duke. I must have missed that on the schedule. I do know UM is on there...and it will be UGLY! -
Ty WebbI think Harrison Barnes might have something to say about Sullinger being the best HS player
-
AutomatikTy Webb;562491 wrote:I think Harrison Barnes might have something to say about Sullinger being the best HS player
Yeah because he won the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award.
Oh wait.... -
Ty WebbWho was the most sought after recruit in the entire country, which Sullinger wasn't?
-
Laley23After watching both teams a few times now Ill stay with my preseason picks.
1. MSU
2. OSU
Simple reason is that MSU has Draymond Green, who to me, might be the most valuable/versatile/important player in the country. I think he presents such tough match-ups and out of them he can do so much more than just score that he gives MSU the edge versus anyone they play (even Duke). -

I respect your opinion, but you can't be serious? -

Im dead serious. He isnt the best at a single thing, but he can do everything. Singler is up there, but I cant think of many other players who bring as much to their team as Green does to MSU. -

I really like his game, but he might not be Michigan State's most valuable player.
