BCS Rankings 11/7

ytownfootballThe FAIL chief...is that last year don't mean shit this year.
You stand corrected. -
Azubuike24I have to agree. Who cares about last year? Plenty of teams return a lot and have worse seasons while other teams replace a lot and have better seasons.

You stand corrected.
So, you are telling me a team who went undefeated 2 years in a row, who won a BCS game last year, returns 21 starters......wouldnt get in over a "one loss" OSU team who might have one legit win over a ranked team? Seriously........wow!
I guess you better tell your buddies that OSU's win vs. Oregon and Pryor's great game means nothing since it was last year and OSU fans still go off of that game for this year.(at least they did until the Wisky game) -
believerThis thread has ben quite entertaining. Next week's "OSU will go BCS dancing because it brings the $$$$$ and an undefeated Boise State will get stood up" BCS Rankings thread should get even better!
The sad thing is all this pre-BCS speculation and bickering won't mean squat if the Buckeyes travel to Iowa and get beat by the Hawkeyes...which I think is very, very likely.
Crystal ball:
1. OSU beats Penn State, loses to Iowa, beats Michigan and gets an Outback Bowl bid.
2. Auburn gets beat by Alabama and then Auburn gets "upset" in the SEC Championship game by Florida or South Carolina.
3. Oregon loses to Arizona or Oregon State
4. Nebraska loses to Texas A&M but wins the Big 12 title game.
5. Michigan State, Wisconsin, TCU and Boise State win out.
6. LSU travels to Arkansas and loses.
7. Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma.
8. Cal, Arizona State or Oregon State trip-up Stanford.
NC Game
TCU vs. Boise State in the BCS Meltdown Bowl
Rose Bowl
Wisconsin vs. Oregon in the How It's Supposed to be Bowl
Orange Bowl
VT vs. Pitt in the Big Joke BCS Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
Nebraska vs. Michigan State in the Welcome to the Big 10 BCS Bowl
Sugar Bowl
Florida vs. Auburn in the Speedy Sugar Buzz SEC Love Fest Bowl on CBS

Spot on? They are worthless as shown by their epic fails in bowl games. The BCS could not be more worthless.ytownfootball;549472 wrote:When you get to the last few weeks of the season the computers are pretty spot on, the variations come from voters who are less/more forgiving depending on how the wind is blowing. The SEC as of late.
Just one of the balances/checks I like about the BCS -

I agree, and I am Bucks fan but they have not beaten one real quality team yet. I love Ohio St but, I do not want anything to do with playing Boise St this year. Moore would shred our secondary. -
Zombaypirateytownfootball;549533 wrote:The argument isn't really about going undefeated as much as it is about depth/quality of opponents players faced. You can't really compare the MWC/WAC to any of the AQ's. That's just my thought, but I realize you don't agree.
With this brilliant logic, we should take the teams with the toughest schedule regardless of their record.
Naw can't compare the MWC to the Big East LMAO. -
Crimson streakJust watch Boise play once and tell me they couldn't beat every team in the country. They are a damn good team and have arguably the best receiving core in the nation. What I find interesting is Stanford at number 6. A few upsets and we may see Stanford sneak into the nc game
-
jordo212000I'm hoping Boise plays TCU in the BCS title game just because every single BCS conference president's head will explode and we might someday see a playoff

Who has Ohio State beaten? -

If MSU, Wisc, and Iowa win out, MSU goes to the Rose Bowl. Head to head is even, so the second tie-breaker is overall record, which eliminates Iowa. Then MSU has head to head over Wisc. -
darbypitcher22this is all about the money people... havent you figured that out yet?

thank you!!! -
tk421Which should make OSU proud. You didn't get into a BCS bowl because you deserve it, you got in because your fans will spend a lot of money.

What is the winning percentage of their opponents. A conference could easily collect wins by playing cupcakes. The SEC's out of conference opponents are probably far worse than what the Mtn West's are -
ytownfootballOr it could just be that the MWC and the WAC are cupcakes.

All of them. I took out the FCS teams. Now I'm sure some of them are against New Mexico States and the Wyomings of the world. -

I'll give you the WAC. The Mtn West isn't as bad as you want people to believe. I've seen several conference comparisons and many have the Mtn West above both the ACC and Big East -

Yes, but it has only been recently, and not all have them ranked higher. The WAC is terrible, MWC isn't nearly as bad. They have a shot at being added, but I doubt they supplant the ACC or Big East, though you could make a case for either. -

Just saw that you beat me by a few minutes. I think it was pretty obvious what he was trying to do here. He left out the obvious stuff that somebody with a half a brain would want to know. "how good are the teams they are beating." He did some fancy statistical cherry-picking.
