Lol a thousand pardons -
MulvaOhio State up 50-25 late in the first half. DeShaun Thomas is looking like Ivan Harris with a post game. Very smooth offensively.

karen lotzNot on TV anywhere outside of Columbus is it?

No idea, I would doubt it though. I'm watching on ESPN3 online anyways. -
karen lotzDidn't even think of that. Thanks!

Hb31187Sullingers boxscore doesnt look very impressive...Has he been effective otherwise? I havent been able to watch

He was pretty much a non-factor. He looks comfortable out there... just hasn't really been targeted in the offense. He obviously has a good feel for the game though. -
karen lotzSo far the video stream has been pretty choppy for me but Sullinger looks to be in pretty really good shape. He has slimmed down quite a bit. He just had a nice follow dunk off a Lighty miss and has been active on the boards. Diebler has knocked down a 3 and even went in and got a offensive rebound. That's about all I've been able to make out. OSU is struggling a little on the boards though, they are only winning the battle 40-9 LOL

Mulva5 freshmen on the court right now. And Thomas just keeps hitting buckets.
-
karen lotzAm I seeing things or did they finally reconfigure the seating arrangements for the student section?
-
MulvaThey finally created a center court section for students. 800 seats.
-
gorocks99Halftime scores:
Lehigh 27 Penn State 21
Minnesota 31 Wofford 21 -

800 doesn't seem like very many but I guess its better than what they have had previously. -
Hb31187Looks like Sully had a damn good 2nd half

Not sure about the numbers, but the entire side court is filled with student section as well as one end of the court. Going to make for a much better atmosphere for the team down by the court. Student section was pretty full tonite. -
thedynasty1998Sounds like the only thing to complain about is that Craft fouled out, so he'll have to learn to play without fouling (saying that not seeing the game and what kind of fouls he committed).

He definately did. He dominated the boards on both ends and OSU made an effort to go to him in second half. I believe he ended with 19pts and 15rbs. Man amoungst boys tonite. Lauderdale almost had a triple double with 8 blocks. Thomas was impressive. The kid can flat out score from anywhere on the court. Obviously A&T isn't very good. I still have concerns with ball handling overall. Buford does "ok" at the PG. But its obvious its not his natural position. Craft had 9 asst. and no turnovers. The starting lineup really isn't the best lineup. Its the biggest. But based on two games, that lineup really isn't on the floor together but for the first few min of each half. Best lineup is Craft at PG, Buford, Lighty, Diebler on wings and Sullinger in post. Lauderale and Sully rotating with Thomas and Sibert off the bench. A lot of depth with this team, along with a lot of talent. Many different guys can go off on any given nite. -

Officials were actually piss poor. Called way too many touch fouls. Definately didn't look like Big Ten officials. Both teams were in the bonus early in first half. -

Yeah I saw in the first half that Sully didnt really get any shot attempts and didnt look like he was a focal point of the offense. I think OSU should feed him in the post just like it appeared they did in the 2nd half(didnt get to see the game just lookin at the boxscore) and he will either dominate the other big man or kick it out to his many shooters. Craft is a VERY solid player, I think by the time that big10 conference schedule rolls around he will be running the point for the majority of the game. Did Thomas hit jumpers or was he slashing or what? He is just a flat out scorer from what I saw of him playing in HS and I think he may be the type that sticks around more than 1 year and if so OSU will have another Big ten POY candidate on their hands.centralbucksfan;555536 wrote:He definately did. Any clue when the next game is that will be televised? Im kinda anxious to watch this team. This team is as deep if not deeper than MSU and thats sayin somethin -
karen lotzThey play Florida on Tuesday, I'd assume that would be televised.
Edit: Tuesday at 6 pm on ESPN. -

Thomas hit at least 1/2 threes along with a few other jumpers right at the 3pt line. He also slashed along with some put backs. He was pretty active. As you said, he is a scorer. Left handed, long arms. He is good. He is and has been overshadowed by Sully. Not sure that some people don't realize he was a top 10/15 nationally ranked player.
OSU plays AT Fla this Tue nite. I believe game is on ESPN. Going to be tough game. Fla returns a lot and has a couple good frosh. Again, my worry is the ball handling/PG position. Fla will pressure them. We'll find just how good some guys are in this game on Tues. Hard to get a good feel against inferior teams like Walsh and A&T. Going to be a different world down in Fla. No matter what happens, win or lose, it will be a good lesson for the frosh. OSU needs to get better defensively on the ball. Again, its mostly the frosh just learning to be consistant on that end of the floor. One thing I do like, that we haven't seen in a LONG while...is this team likes to get to the boards. Rebounding shouldn't be an issue. -
thedynasty1998Obviously depth is great to have and a luxury, but when you look at their top 5, it's as good as most in college basketball. I'll disagree with CBF and say the best five are Craft, Buford, Lighty, Thomas and Sullinger. Lauderdale is the big off the bench and you have Diebler (shooter off bench) and Sibert (everything you want from a backup wing) to fill in at the wings (strategically make your rotations so that you have either Craft or Buford in to handle the ball). And then throw in Weatherspoon as needed and it's a damn good lineup.

You can disagree all you want. But I'll gaurantee, Matta sees it my way as well. Weatherspoon won't see the floor come Big Ten, or big non conference. He is probably the worst of the frosh class, by far. Great athlete. But it was obvious tonite, he has a LONG ways to go. Smith got some PT late. He just started to practice last week. I think once he gets into game condition, he could see some time. Another lefty, slasher. But still a bit of a question as haven't seen enough of him yet. -
gorocks99Penn State comes back to pound Lehigh, 70-56. MSU up on EMU 49-33 at half.
-
thedynasty1998No, Matta will see it my way. You think your 5 will start and they might, but I'm willing to bet down the stretch of a close game it's the 5 I mentioned (unless Diebler is shooting well, meaning over 15 points).
It's no secret that Weatherspoon is the least skilled, but Lauderdale has a tendency to get into foul trouble and I could see the same from Sullinger, so he might be relied upon to play some minutes.
Whatever Smith gives is a bonus. Didn't get to see him in the Exhibition, but OSU seems to be pretty set at the guard, unless Smith is better than Sibert.
