Honestly this game never makes me feel very confident because we always seem to struggle in Champaign, but I think we get the victory.

I was at the game in Champaign a couple years ago (Beanie's hurdle) and we played just fine.

I agree. We always seem to have a tough time in Champaign. Or at least tougher that I think it should be.

    Last 3 meetings in Champaign

2008: 30-20.....Wasn't that close Illinois scored a TD with 30 some seconds left.
2006: 17-10.....OSU raced to a 17-0 first half lead and held on....Troy Smith's worst game during his Heisman year.
2002: 23-16 OT...Another close game on our way to perfection.

That 2002 game I was screaming at the television. That season gave me a lot of gray hairs, but what a season.

    38 - 13 OSU.

Pryor will get his first 300 yard passing game of the year.

Tressel said in his presser today Hall will get more looks at RB and we will see saine at WR #3 more often this week.

I think its a good move. Saine will be a deep threat with his speed playing in the slot.

I am one of the large group of people that wants to see even more of Jamaal Berry as well

It still makes me laugh that a few posters have said if they had the choice right now, they'd take Boeckman over Pryor. (see the thread comparing the Best Ohio State QBs of all time)

I'm cool with Hall getting some more touches. Saine and Herron have been very ordinary so far this year, although I will say that I still think Tress protects Herron too much. He shouldn't be getting nearly as many touches as he does

I see 17 1/2 everywhere. I do think that is low.

It makes me laugh even harder when I think of all the ignorant fools from last year that said Pryor should play Wide Reeciver for Ohio State.

I know, right? Let's say they did. Who plays QB? Bauserman? Oh gosh haha. I get nautious just thinking of that

Illinois seems to play OSU tuff, don't know if its because Bucks look past them or what..............OSU wins by 21

    Me thinks OSU wins easy.

Illinois has had some success running the football against Ohio State. Last year the Buckeyes held them to 88 yards rushing, but in 07' and 08' the Illinois rushed for 214 and 260 yards. This year Illinois come into the game ranked 19th nationally running the football averaging 229 a game. Hopefully we can stuff the run all afternoon and force them to throw the football, and the secondary plays alot better then they have.

Not gonna happen. They did that with juice running the spread. This year they run mostly out of a pro offense. OSU's D line with eat them alive and Homan and Co will be wrecking havoc.

I think Mendenhall had as much or more to do with that as Juice did.
  • OneBuckeye
In 2008 Mendenhall didn't even play. Juice was 2nd in rushing with 50 yards. In 2007 dufrane had 106 yards on 8 carries. Mendenhall had 88 on 26 carries and juice had 70 on 16 carries. I think juice and the spread had A LOT to do with it.
  • Tiger2003
Trust me I don't think they will be able to run for 200 yards on the defense probably not even 100. I really think this game will get ugly if Illinois can't pass the ball at all. If they show no threat throwing the football, then Illinois won't be able to run the football because the defense will stack the box.

I don't mean to say that Juice had nothing to do with it, but I think the combo of Juice and Mendenhall was too much for us in 2007. Once Mendenhall was gone Juice was not nearly as effective and I think Mendenall deserved more credit than he got.

So last year the Bucks held them to 88 yards, but gave up 260? Now I don't know what to think.

    I meant 07' and 08'.....in 2009 the Bucks gave up 88 yards.
