Ummm yes I did and there were too many bodies to show indisputable evidence that he was down. Do you know what indisputable means? You can't just make inferences in video replay. He extended his upper torso before it is possible to tell he was clearly down.

Also, people are forgetting Illinois had TWO weeks before this game. They were definitely a lot healthier than Ohio State... and they had an extra week of preparation. I am happy to get out of this week with a Win.

Herron gained 3/4 of a yard when he needed a full yard on that 4th down play. Of course, He should have only needed 1/2 a yard, but there was an awful spot on the previous play. So, it all evened out in the end.

Apparently Pryor skipped out on Carmen Ohio.... injured? or pissed?

I don't care what they grade out to be. They don't pass the eye test as far as what I am seeing on the field. Yes, its a combination of our RB not looking great either. But with the line experience we have back, I should be able to pick up 75yds a game on just straight up running plays. I have not been impressed. I mean they were LUCKY to get those couple of 3rd/4th and short plays. With this line, that should NOT be in question. And again, yes our RB need to find and hit the holes fast. Its a combo...but I htink most is on the line. They also gave up a couple/3 sacks as well.

Illinois Dline and front 7 made them look like a bad high school team. They move no one, and they dont pick up the blitz woth a shit! The game is won in the trenches, and our troops up front are pissing down their leg! Defense played well.

Herron rushed for 94 yards and a score. The blitzes Illinois drew up were perfect, bringing guys of the edges, and usually bring more then we had blocking. When OSU needed to run the football they did. This is one of those games you say lets take the win and start preparing for next week.

You know they do give up some sacks but TP holds onto the football alot longer then most QB. He is trying to make plays, more times then most he breaks off the 1st guy and gets away.

Everyone is going to blitz us because Pryor doesn't get the ball out, he tries to break tackles in the backfield. Sometimes he makes a big play out of it, but if he wants to be a QB he needs to read the blitz and get rid of the ball.

It's hard for any line when you're facing 8 man fronts, and the playcalling doesn't do anything to throw the D off balance. Where are the screen passes, and the quick slants? When you're running the ball straight up the middle everytime it's going to be hit or miss.

Off to another slow start as last year. Hopefully they turn the corner as they did last year. STill like to see more of Hall or Berry at RB. Saine has been bad and Boom is just an avg. rb at best.

O I don't think he played a great game by any means, but I think with the horrible play calling, bad line play, and Posey giving lackluster effort for most of the game, he did not play all that bad.

I don't disagree with that. But that wasn't on every play either. Seriously, there are NO excuses for our line with the experience we have. Not against a team like ILL. But no, I didn't care for much of the play calling either.
I agree with TIGER. I think Tress sensed that OSU wasn't tuned in and he just wanted to get out of there with a "W".

ONLY if Pryor doesn't play in those games.

Surely you aren't so foolish to think Ohio State stayed with their game plan after Pryor was injured. Tressel didn't want to do anything to put Pryor in a position to compound his pulled muscle. Hell, I was surprised Pryor was allowed to run a QB sneak for a 1st down and throw as many as 4 passes. NONE of the Ohio State coaches wanted Pryor to do anything more than hand the ball to a running back after his injury. Just having him on the field, instead of Bauserman OR Guiton, gave the offense and defense the confidence to outscore Illinois 10-3 in the second half.

If Pryor wasn't injured Ohio State covers the spread.

Pryor says he has a quad strain, and says he'll play next week. Said it was very painful, though, and he heard a pop.

The band wasn't at Illinois. Did you see him talking to Tressel in the final seconds of the game? I'm sure he was instructed to immediately head for the locker room, get out of the cool weather and start treatment on his quad. I bet next week Pryor will spend more time getting treatments than time on the practice field.

I saw a couple of 2nd string O-linemen on the field in the 2nd half, as well as some 2nd string DBs, making them 3rd string DB's, on the field.

Didn't Tressel say they had several players get nicked in this game?

    You missed the screen pass.

I'LL TAKE THAT BET. Your net worth VS my net worth. If you win you get over a million, if I win I get you bicycle and cheap cellphone.

This game only showed how tough the Big 10 can be on the road. But I am concerned about the OSU running game. Every NC team has a couple scares along the way. We just had one of those. But the end result is still a win.

This was a great win for the Buckeyes. The Illini have always been a thorn on our butts. Sorry, Zookie! (Whom btw got his start in coaching right here in little old Orrville) Well, I find it interesting that Society is taking care of Ty Webb on here. How nice.

Oh, I forgot to give Tiernan cred for his last post. Good one.

Marked down and saved in PM. I will start a thread at the end of the regular season with their win loss record.

Any way Gene Harris can hire Michigan State's O-coordinator for tOSU?
