#3 There is only one man on the planet who uses Heisman Trophies as book-ends, and where did he go to school

This usually shuts up anybody who wants to challenge their piss-ant school's accomplishments against those of tOSU.

You can't say that Jesse Owens is without equal the greatest athlete of all time. You can say he's the greatest, but I would argue there are 1 or 2 equal.

There are also way more success stories than that.

Like I said to the original poster, go somewhere else if you don't like Ohio State. Let us make all the money, bang all the hot chicks, and in general have a life 10000000x better than anything you've ever experienced. I don't care if you want to be average, but I chose not to be, and therefore I chose Ohio State.

I must admit I have never seen those 4 words ever used together.

I would assume most people avoid engaging in conversation with you at all costs, so it never gets this far.

Indeed. And as this site's Heretic, I must say that the ONLY way to prove a point is to simply make "facts" fit your opinion...by any means necessary.

And the first question also doubles as a good KKK entrance exam.

    Muhammed Ali

and if you put a gun to my head and said name another, I think I'd probably say Jim Thorpe too.

Tiernan, who did you think I would say (I'm REALLY curious).
  • Tiernan
Most know nothings say Jim Thorpe (Ali are you serious???). The very definition of Athletics is derived from the ancient games of what is commonly referred to as Track & Field today. Thorpe was a great "Team Game" player of that there is no argument and his performanace in the 1912 Olympic Pentathlon (much different than todays Pentathlon) is indeed noteworthy. But Owens on a single afternoon in 1935 at the Big 10 Championships set 4 World Records and his long jump record held for over 22 yrs. Then he single handedly stuck Hitler's Aryan Superiority theory up Adolf's ass at the 1936 Berlin Olympics while setting two more World Records. Thorpe's claim is weak...Ali's claim is ludicrous.
  • karen lotz
Thorpe won Olympic gold in the pentathlon and decathlon, played college and professional football, played professional baseball, and played played professional basketball. Owens was great and obviously had a great moment/performance at the Berlin Games but its not close to the versatility of Thorpe.
  • Tiernan
Who was faster? Who could jump longer? Who could jump higher? Owens, Owens and uh...Owens. Those three criteria define "athleticism" thus the best at those three things is the better Athlete and once again the answer is Owens.

Now you can go back trying to prove Johnny Lujack or John Huarte were better football players than Archie Griifin Lotz.

That's odd, because I made no mention of Notre Dame or any of its players. Good talk.

    Sleeper,

You're probably right about my daughter, she probably won't cut it at OSU. I wish she could so she could hook up with someone like you and be successful. She needs to understand the importance of money, fame, and getting banged by successful individuals to make it in today's Columbus.
