Your New Top 25 after Week 2

gamauterI am an OSU fan but until we beat the SEC in the title game I don't have any problem being listed as #2 behaind their best team.

WebFireGlad to see Michigan's name again. But I'm cautiously optimistic. We were ranked last year after ND and we all know how that ended up. If they can go into the MSU game 5-0, and then beat Sparty, then I'll know it's for real.

Their line is great, backup RB is a stud, QB makes the right decisions, defense is fast and big up front and solid special teams. They are the most complete team right now, by far.
It's early though and that may change, but after two weeks, they are head and shoulders above everyone else.
Flawless? Really? That defense gave up two drives to a FRESHMAN Qb in the red zone.
Not flawless at all the defense has holes in it.
I have not seen a flawless team yet, including the Buckeyes who are struggling on special teams, especially kick coverages.
1 Alabama
2 Ohio St
3 Oregon
4 Boise St
5 Iowa
6 Texas
7 Nebraska
8 Florida
9 Oklahoma
10 TCU -
ptown_trojans_1Did Penn St. score a TD? No. And they shutdown Penn St. until the 4th, where they got a FG at the end. It was nearly a shutout.
It's as close to flawless as you can get.
No other team is as complete as they are right now, and this is coming from a Buckeye fan.
BTW, I like Oregon at 3. Man, they looked good at Tenn. -

No they did not give a Td but that was much more a Freshman qb making mistakes rather than Alabama stopping them. They pull that against Ryan Mallet and it will be a Td.
I like Oregon, they really shined in the second half against Tenn. It should be an interesting season that is for sure. I have Alabama #1 because of their offense which I would use the word flawless to describe. They can run and can pass when they want, I see no weakness in that offense, but it has been only 2 games.
I did see weakness in the defense though, I would expect that because trying to replace Arenas, Mt Cody and McClain is just not going to happen this year for them.
Lots of football left and we both know injuries will play a part somewhere down the line. -

I guarantee that they wouldn't look flawless against a team that is just as athletic and physical like OSU. -

No, but right now, they would be favored by 7-9. Plus, where is Bama's weak spot? OSU's is the secondary and Special teams. I haven't seen one for Bama.namod65;483115 wrote:I guarantee that they wouldn't look flawless against a team that is just as athletic and physical like OSU. -
ytownfootballI'll grant you kick coverage but I don't see the OSU secondary to be a detriment. Based on what exactly? Thought they did pretty well against a highly skilled group in Miami's.
-
namod65Bama's weak spots are that they have nine new starters on defense, and that their QB is good, but nothing much more than a game-manager type QB. He's not going to be able to put the team on his back and carry them to the promise land if the situation calls for it. He has great talent around him that he uses well, but he's not the one that will beat you, it's their RBs and receivers that will. Put him in a sticky situation and I like the opposing team's chances.

Pick6I will never talk smack on the steelers, notre dame, michigan, or the sec again on this board if alabama goes undefeated

Inexperience and still untested really. In the defense, they have been the weakest spot for a few years now. The front four and LBers have been solid, but the secondary has had some awful holes over the years. While they did play well in the Miami game, I still saw some holes in the coverage. -
Ty WebbOhio State has the best front 7 in CFB...but their DB's are what keep them from being the best Defense in the country
-
Cleveland BuckOhio State's secondary didn't look too good in the second half against Miami, but part of that was the fact that they stopped getting any pressure on Harris.
Alabama didn't look unbeatable against Penn State. The freshman QB was moving the ball pretty well. He just made some dumbass freshman throws that cost them points. Their offense looked unstoppable, but their defense looked pretty vulnerable against a good offense with a veteran QB. -

Please tell us why you think that. I dont know who does, but I wonder why you think that.... besides the fact you are probably an OSU fan.Ty Webb;483374 wrote:Ohio State has the best front 7 in CFB.. -

1.No,I'm not an Ohio State fan
2.Have you watched them play?? They have dominated the line of scrimmage and have potentially 3-4 first round picks in their front 7. They have the best D-Lineman in the country and 2 of the Top 10 LB's in the country. They are the best front 7 in college football, with the only team within striking distance being Alabama -

They gave up 127 yards rushing and 4.1 a carry against Penn st again with a true freshman Qb which means they were putting 9 in the box much of the game to stop the run and still gave up 127 yards and 4.1 per carry. That is a weakness. Alabama's defense is vunerable. -

Uh, OSU gave up 352 total yards, including a 4.3 ypc average. Is their defense weak too? -

I might agree with you just from watching the guy play. But, that would be incredibly good luck to be undefeated in your lifetime - both in high school and college - without knowing a little something about what it takes to win. He did hit some big passes in close games to bring them from behind last year (Va Tech, Auburn). "Game-manager" is a bit overused, as well. A guy doesn't have to throw 30 passes a game to be efficient or contribute. Not turning the ball over and completing passes when it counts may mean you're managing the game or throwing less, but it doesn't mean you can't get the job done when it counts. -

he is actually a bandwagon florida fan. Also I think 4 interceptions begs to differ on the secondary being weak. We have returning starters in Hines, Torrence, and Chekwa. Chekwa has impressed me a lot so far..especially seeing i thought he was god awful last year. Barnett is pretty impressive in his first year starting, and is not afraid to hit. When Moeller comes in, he just makes plays -
sleeperI'd love to see Bama come to the shoe, because we'd all know they'd never get out of there with a win, and neither would any other SEC team.

Chekwa? Really? Checkwa is garbage, and if he wasn't an upperclassman he'd be ridding the bench. -

No, I dont watch them...........thats why I was asking. And if you are a UF fan, why are you paying so much attention to a OSU team? You aint related to the guy who likes UF and OSU are you? -

yea i thought so last season too. But how can you complain with 2 interceptions last game -
