CinciX12Wow, I didn't watch the Boise State v Virginia Tech game. Do they deserve those 8 first place votes?
-
OneBuckeyeGood thing the coach's are keeping it real.

karen lotzWow, look at TCU right there in both polls ready to move up if/when the top teams slip up.
-
Mohican00TCU v Boise State for the natl championship - you heard it here first

ptown_trojans_1I've got no complaints. Looks good to me.

Boise State is a VERY good team, but good enough to take 1st place votes from OSU and especially Alabama?? I don't believe so.CinciX12;474804 wrote:Wow, I didn't watch the Boise State v Virginia Tech game. Do they deserve those 8 first place votes? -
bartsimpsonSo Boise trails much of the game and beats the #10 team on a last minute TD to gain 7 votes over OSU (who looked very good in a 45-7 victory) while giving up ZERO defensive points. Maybe OSU should have played the starters the entire game so they could score 70? I'm willing to bet that at least 5 of the 7 people who gave those first place votes to Boise don't have a clue what the OSU score was. Will those same voters give those 7 votes back to OSU when they win this week....and Boise is off. The problem with the media is they seem to have no "standards" when it comes to voting. Boise is a media darling and stories about them sell papers (and magazines) which is why they do so much better in that than they do in the coaches poll.
-
OneBuckeye^ That is why the AP poll doesn't count, because they vote with their emotions and whatever Kirk and Mustyburger say. (On a side note, before VT gave the game away Kirk and Brent were talking up VT like they were destin to win the NC, it seemed like whoever was ahead was going to run the table ect ect. So annoying) Secondly BSU moved up in the coaches poll to third, which I don't disagree with because they are the only one in the top 25 to beat another team that is still in the top 25.

Boise didn't trail most of the game. They were up 17-0 and up 20-14 at halftime. It then went back and forth. Second, VT at home, pretty much >>>>>>Marshall.
Third, even for an away game, Boise never panicked and never looked frustrated at all last night. -
karen lotzBoise didn't trail much of the game. They were up 17-0 very early and came out and dominated both lines of scrimmage at the start. The score was 20-14 at half and each time Va Tech took the lead, Boise had an answer for them. You have to remember that Boise was playing a virtual road game in a hostile environment against a pretty damn good team. Va Tech will win a lot of games this year. OSU played well against an out manned and out classed Marshall team at home. I don't think Boise should have taken away votes from OSU, but in the end it won't matter. At this point in the season, OSU needs to take care of their own business and they will be in the NC game.

karen lotzgood call ptown. It took my post about 3 minutes to get posted

dat dudeI definitely don't have a problem with Boise taking first place votes from OSU. I actually thought they may make a jump to #2. But, as already said, OSU just needs to win out and things will take care of themselves.
-
ptown_trojans_1That said, Boise is a legit number 3 to me and if Bama or OSU screws up and Boise blows past their schedule, I can easily see them in the title game.
One final thing, the game last night, when VT comes onto the field to Enter Sandman, it is awesome. The stadium was literally shaking and the couple beside me said it is even louder in VT. -

The voters can do what they want....all I ask for (and the AP poll never provides) is consistency. Those voters has OSU above Boise before last weekend....so obviously they thought OSU was better. OSU wins a laugher...and Boise squeeks out a win over VT. If they want to have any credibility they need to give OSU back those votes if OSU beats Miami, who I think is going to prove over the course of the season to be a much, much better team than VT. -
cats gone wildThis poll should change drastically next week.

Well, it isn't why the AP Poll doesn't count. The AP removed itself from the BCS equation because it found the formula to be bogus. -
Little DannyTech was #6. They were not going to drop them down that far for losing a game in the last minute to the #3 team in the country. I do agree they should be lower than #13 though.

Lets not forget a couple of things. Not taking anything away from Boise...but if Beamer had HALF A BRAIN...he runs the ball on 3rd down, when Boise had zero timeouts...then punts. This while the clock was running and under 2 min. That would have taken another 40 seconds off the clock before Boise got the ball back. But no, the dillrod throws a pass, incomplete. Add in a cheap call penalty on the personal foul to help as well.
Lets not forget the other bone head plays VaTech made in 1st qtr. Boise looked good...but VaTech helped them out as much as they could. -
ZombaypirateBoise will be undefeated and no one is going to want them come bowl time. They very well could be the most complete team in FBS. VT will win the ACC this year.
-
cats gone wildPeople seem to forget that Boise has 20 starters back from an undefeated team that won a BCS game last season.

Agreed. I honestly could not understand that play and being slightly intoxicated, yelled that was one of the worst play calls I've ever seen. I said he Beamer was pulling a "Les Miles". Apparently, Beamer forgot that he was playing one of the best teams in the country with a 2 minute offense.
If they would have ran the ball, game would have probably turned out differently. -
