From all the statements that have been coming out, I think people are gradually giving the fans the news as to not make it so hard when it becomes official.

so from the statements we've heard leaked so far the alignment will be something similar to this?

    OSU
    PSU
    Indiana
    Illinois
    Iowa
    Minnesota

    Wisconsin
    Nebraska
    Michigan
    MSU
    Northwestern
    Purdue

Because (and correct me if I'm wrong) Nebraska won't be in the same division as Minny and Iowa, OSU wont' be in the same division as UM, Wisky won't be in the same division as Iowa

    Where does it end?

Would he agree to change the uniform colors if offered enough money? How about renaming the Ohio Stadium to Huntington Field?

I wonder what the backlash was like when those assholes decided to introduce the forward pass? Way to fuck with tradition. :p

There is going to be a "protected crossover" agreement type of deal.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5498692
Wisconsin and Iowa first met in 1894 and have played 85 times. The Badgers and Hawkeyes are currently protected rivals and have played every season since 1995.

Even if placed in separate divisions, the two teams could meet every season through a protected crossover game.

I refer to this from time to time, as well.

I know you are joking, but they seriously they F'ed this up big time. OSU fans do not want to play Michigan twice, and vice versa. Keep them in the same division, make it the last game of the year, and to the victor goes the spoils of meaningless, money driven, championship game played in Chicago at 5 degrees in 50 mph wind. That will determine the best team!

Meaningless? The winner of that "meaningless" game will be going to a BCS game.

This coming from the guy who called a tie with UM the greatest victory ever and who doesn't want a playoff because it would lead to the professionalization of college football- all that tells me OSU and UofM should be in the same division.
Dr. Gee could not have a more backwards view of the greatest sport going in America now.

It's meaningless because most likely the teams will have already played. Just wait until OSU stomps some team in the regular season then loses to them in the title game in horrible conditions.

    That would be called "choking".

Here is their plan. Mark it down:

    Division:
    Ohio State
    Penn State
    Indiana
    Purdue
    Minnesota
    Wisconsin

    Division:
    Nebraska
    Iowa
    Michigan
    Michigan State
    Illinois
    Northwestern

Last week of regular season "Rivalry Week":
    Ohio State vs. Penn State
    Indiana vs. Purdue
    Minnesota vs. Wisconsin
    Michigan vs. Michigan State
    Nebraska vs. Iowa
    Northwestern vs. Illinois

    Protected Rivalry Games:
    Ohio State vs. Michigan
    Penn State vs. Nebraska
    Wisconsin vs. Iowa
    Indiana vs. Illinois
    Northwestern vs. Purdue
    Minnesota vs. Michigan State

The only non-rivalry that becomes a rivalry is Minnesota vs. Michigan State and Penn State vs. Nebraska is too big to pass up.

They will say that this preserves the most rivalries.

If we complain enough, I am hoping that they would consider reworking the schedule to move around a couple games and allow Ohio State vs. Michigan to be the last game.

interesting-we'll have to wait and see..and I'm one that hopes you're correct on your last thought

They need to be in the same division. I don't care if its the last game, but I don't want to play Michigan twice, except for a couple years ago when we could have had a re-match for a National Championship.

Agreed- they need to be in the same division. But if not, don't worry- Michigan is a good 5+ years away from even sniffing a conf title.

Michigan will be lucky to even be sniffing a bowl win. LOL
