Things You Will Never See When Watching Certain Teams
-
krambmanThe "Thing's you always see" thread and the fact that Michigan started using pumped in music and has finally scheduled their first night game (two things many thought would never happen) it got me thinking. What are somethings you will never see at a game for a certain team?

-
ohiotiger33Texas Tech- Running the football
South Carolina- Shots of a Trophy Case of any kind -
j_crazyTerelle Pryor throw 5 consecutive passes where as an OSU fan, you won't go "Wow, that was a bad throw."
UND go undefeated. (not that I think the team is cursed to be bad, but it's harder to go undefeated when you play so many big games). -
karen lotzNo jumbotron or ads (other than NBC) inside Notre Dame Stadium
-
goosebumpsA less than average defense at Ohio State
-
Little DannyUSC- Ugly cheerleaders
Penn State (at home)- A sunny day
Notre Dame- One of the players is a Muslim (wait-- that actually happened already?) -

eh..usc..maybe pitt. maybe u can count michigan as a big game(even though not good). not very many traditionally tough opponents.j_crazy wrote: Terelle Pryor throw 5 consecutive passes where as an OSU fan, you won't go "Wow, that was a bad throw."

Let me guess, Michigan is a big game for OSU (even though not good), right? If you take Michigan out who would you consider traditionally tough opponents for OSU? Indiana? Northwestern? Minnesota?Pick6 wrote:

Its easy to name the bottom feeders. Th biggest rivalry in the country is always a big game. If you could comprehend, I said I geuss you can count it for ND.karen lotz wrote:

As for good teams ohio state plays or has played recently....usc, miami (fl), texas, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa. All are traditionally pretty solid programs. -

You also said ND doesn't play too many traditional tough opponents. Did I not comprehend that correctly?Pick6 wrote:

Also, OSU/Michigan is the biggest rivalry in Ohio and Michigan (although a lot of people say UM/Sparty is a bigger game for them) and that's it. There is more to the college football world than Ohio State. -
Red_Skin_PrideGood defense in the PAC-10.
-
stephen3108Wow, you are really ignorant if you think UM/MSU is a bigger rivalry than OSU/UM.
-

I don't think that but there are people in Michigan that do. Like I said, there is college football and life in general outside the state of Ohio. I know it isn't an easy concept for a lot of people on here to grasp. And you are ignorant if you don't realize this.stephen3108 wrote: Wow, you are really ignorant if you think UM/MSU is a bigger rivalry than OSU/UM. -
Little DannyFrom my experience, the OSU/UM rivalry is a way bigger deal to people in Ohio than it is for people in Michigan. That's not to say it is not a rivalry game for UM fans, it's just that the people in Ohio take it to another level.
The Michigan/Michigan St. game is a big deal to people in Michigan as well. When Michigan was kicking OSU'S ass every year under the Cooper years the Michigan State game became more heated for UM fans. I think know that the pendulum has swung back in OSU's favor and the wins are not coming for the people up north the games are getting more intense for UM fans. If OSU continues to dominate, I have to wonder when OSU starts looking at the Michigan game and saying "eh, our biggest rival is PSU'". -
vball10setlet's try and stay on topic here...
an Alabama game without seeing someone in a houndstooth hat...a Georgia game without a drooling UGA -
slcoachAn Ole Miss game without some amazingly hot ass in the bleachers.
-
darbypitcher22Texas- A game that doesn't have a shot of Bevo at one point or the other

So you'll always see someone in a houndstooth hat and UGA.vball10set wrote: let's try and stay on topic here...

Gentleman, you're missing the point here. You just mentioned three things you will ALWAYS see, you just put them in the negative. These really belong on the other thread. We're looking for things you will NEVER see. For instance, you'll never Nick Saban looking happy on the sidelines or you'll never see Les Miles play it safe. -

I guess ESPN doesn't count as the rest of the country though, right? You're a fucking idiot. -

to say notre dame doesn't play traditionally solid programs is pretty ignorant, especially since the first team you mentioned has played notre dame every year since the 1920s. they've also played penn state recently, they play michigan (one of or the most winningest program) on a regular basis, there are also plans to play oklahoma in the future as well as trying to schedule texas, mizzou, and wisconsin.Pick6 wrote:

(i'm just saying they've played the teams, not that they've been competitive in recent years.)
notre dame might be guilty of softening their schedule, but then again, ohio state scheduled marshall, ou, and eastern michigan this year.. not exactly traditional power houses.
