Canes is ok, but theres a Roosters just a bit farther up on the right, just past the Burger King.5knots wrote: For more food ideas.....Have not had Hound Dogs.....I will give it a try. Hard to top Tommy's Pizza..the one on Lane Avenue about 1/2 mile west of the Schott, and if you have not had Cane's Chicken fingers you are missing something....local cops in Columbus call it "Crack" chicken because it hooks you like cocaine. It is in the Shopping Plaza just north of the football training center on Olentangy. You can buy a few pieces or a couple hundred (call ahead). Gotta give kudos to that find to former Red Rider and current Police Sgt Jim Haley of C-town. I'm gettin' hungry!

Roosters
Multiple locations

Here's a tip: For just a buck more, you can upgrade your order of 10 Roosters wings to all drums. It's worth the splurge. The drums give you a lot more meat (and fewer boney obstacles) to soak up any of Roosters' 11 great sauces. Try the lightly breaded, deep-fried flappers in the vinegary-sweet Carolina Gold for a mild taste or, if you're truly brave, you can venture up the Scoville scale to Donkey, Killer or Super Killer. You'll be thankful for Roosters' other specialty: Cheap pitchers of ice-cold beer.
Runners-up: Buffalo Wild Wings, Quaker Steak & Lube -
THE4RINGZNot if you have to drive. There are only two State Funded Rest Stops between here and Columbus if you know what I mean.

rider80Redrider1 . Sorry will not be in attendance Thursday. If they make it Sat i will be sitting just across the foul line. Not behind the basket. You can sit by me anytime. Now RRFan ? I will have to think about that one. Any Orrville special events give me a PM.
Good Luck Riders
Canes is the best . Get extra sauce. -

Consider yourself topped. -
RedRider180,
I wont be there Saturday if we win...so we'll just miss each other.
Series,
I've never smelled a day in my life. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, yes?
Also...congrats to Jake B....first team All-Ohio. Wasson got honorable mention, just like last year. Thought his play is far and away better than last year, and deserved special mention, at least, if not 3rd team...but D3 was loaded. Must have been his off-season work in AAU and with Morgan Wenger (a Triway grad).
Some light reading....

You can't top that!!
It would also cause you to reconsider that stupid "town square" ritual, too!! -

Congratulations to Bolyard!
Do you know if he has any collegiate prospects? -
rrfanseries62-you mean you are not jesting with me? LOL! I would still disagree with you on the other topic and it would not matter who I am sitting with.
Rider80-we would all be cheering for the same thing. So I would think we would have a good time.
Lets go Riders! -
OrrPridePay no attention to the man behind the curtain.......lol I knew it was killin' him not to have something to say...lol

This team must've spent days and days at the park working on their game. That's what we've been told was missing, right?
-
rider80RR1: : i do know one player that spent days and days at the park . Jake and guess what? 1st Team All-Ohio.
Congrads to Zach as well. We can debate this topic , but the proof will be evident next year without Jake. He will tell you that he developed his game playing at the park against bigger stronger players that will beat the **** out of you . There is nothing he has not seen .
The ability to create your own shot . PRICELESS -
RedRider1We were told that this year would be no different from last year. The kids "didn't listen" and didn't have the heart or the basketball smarts....and guess what? Well...you know. Final 4....with a bunch of football players and 2 excellent basketball players.
Now we're being told that we'll see that next year....too funny. -
RiderHoopsJake improved his game the most by playing 12 months out of the year for the last 4 years. Sure he played at the park alot, but 4 years of AAU against some really tough competition, weekend tournaments, pick up games at various locations and constantly shooting in his driveway is what has brought him into his game. Alot of things contributed, it certainly wasn't just playing at the park. (not to mention the fact that he has been playing basketball since kindergarten when Smitty let him come to the summer camp even though he wasn't old enough)
There were plenty of disappointments in the 1st 3years of high school basketball for him, but not giving up and working hard has paid off.
So for all those kids out there......never give up on your passions!
Good Luck Riders, we love you and we support you! BEAT those SILVER KNIGHTS!! -
RedRider1^^That's the bigger issue...he's just passionate about basketball. We saw that last year as he left it all on the floor against Minerva....and have seen it all year this year.
Success doesn't come overnight or easily....
It ain't about who or who isn't hoopin it up at the park...that's part of it, but so is playing AAU, working in the weight room, being a student of the game, and being a good teammate. Coaching plays a part too. -
rider80RR1 : Not sure who said " Kids didn't listen", or any of the other things you quoted. I am very happy that the team is in the final four it is an experience that will last a life time. I hope they bring home the championship.
Please tell me who said that this year would be no different?
You may keep what i said about next year. Senior leadership very hard to replace. Yes " i will say once again" I told you so". Let my record speak for it's self as i have told you many things that have been true. Lets just celebrate the NOW and Hope for the best next year. -
thedynasty1998Congrats to Joe Graessle for earning 1st team All Ohio.
Just a side story for Orrville fans, but at Ready they hang your picture in the main hallway for 1st Team All Staters and state champions. So, 2nd team All Ohio doesn't really mean much at Ready, so it's great to see Graessle get his picture on the wall.
Another note, in the Central District, Graessle was 1st team, but Riley from Cardington (or Centerburg, I get the two mixed up) was District POY. However, Riley got 2nd team All Ohio and Riley was 2nd. First time I've ever seen that happen. -
rrfanRider80 can we finish this year before we start with all your crap about next year?
You like stats so here is one for you...If Coach Slaughter would happen to win Thursday and Saturday he will have won as many tourney games as the former Coach Short in ONE YEAR!
Get behind these kids and enjoy the ride! Good Luck at State boys!! -
rider80We can agree or disagree about AAU or Jo . I have been in that racket for 12 years. 1 year AAU . i agree that playing at least 9-mo is important in developing your game I also think taking some time off is important as well (burnout). I also will say its who you are playing against is just as important.
Gotta Love the game ! Passion Great comment Riderhoops
I dont compare coaches, records ect.
I think all coaches do a geat job. Not paid enough for what they do.
rrFan : how about sitting out on this conversation? -
RedRider180,
we heard it all last year about how the coach said things but the kids wouldn't listen...not his fault is what was repeated over and over....and how that would not change this year just because of a new coach.
Can you say "told you so" about that? No way. -
RedRider1Article from the Cols. Dispatch....
We're being called the favorite like we're the 2nd coming of Lebron & Co. I disagree on that. We'll have to play a very solid game on both ends to get the win.
