    Mooney plays at 6, vs ravenna. Struthers plays at 730 vs hubbard, Poland plays vs niles in the upcoming days

    East Canton wins a sectional championship and advances to a District Semi-Final on Tuesday 3/9/10 @ 8:00 vs. St. Thomas Aquinas

    Heard people talking already about this Stark County matchup on Tuesday. Should be a good one.

    The District Championship game on Friday 3/12 will be broadcast on TV as the Fox (or MyYTV--can't keep them straight anymore...) Game of the Week. I believe Clear Channel is broadcasting Tuesday's East Palestine vs. Campbell matchup on the radio.

    Pride, BigDean.....didn't I tell you guys that East Canton would struggle with Ursuline, and this isn't even one of Ursuline's better teams.

    You sure did. You are the man. For Campbell, East Palestine is next up. If the Red Devils continue to play like they've been playing over the past few games, they are going to be tough to beat.
    The only thing I fear is a bad shooting night where the bigs are going to have to really step up. That is something they are not accustomed to doing. But Campbell has a history of playing really well down at Salem. I am optimistic. But let's take care of business vs. East Palestine on Tuesday night first.

    Campbell wins 61-43, and advances to the championship game for a 5th consecutive year. Scoring: CM 14-12 end 1; CM 29-23 half; CM 46-34 end 3; final CM 61-43.
    Campbell never really got into any type of rythym offensively, except for a few spurts here and there. Lester Hughes was big tonight though. Defensively, Campbell played pretty well, but the Devils did miss alot of free throws tonight. Didn't play there best but still won, congrats guys!!!!

    Should be a good one. East Canton played much better than they did last Friday.

    Sadly, it will not be the Game of the Week. MyYTV decided to do the D-IV final instead.

    That is sad....but oh well. I guess everyone has to get their props. Is the DIV game both local teams?? I think McDonald is one of them for sure. Who is the other??

    I am planning on at least 45 minutes or more in terms of how early before tip I will arrive. Sonny is telling me an hour. That all depends on how an 11 week old is acting however.

    Fellas, I am leaving my place at 5:15 I will get there by 5:35. I'll do my very best to save seats for you. I stayed for both games on Tuesday. I had not seen a crowd that big for the semifinals since
    the Tillman Bevly era. I have a feeling both communities are going
    to bring a lot of people. GO DEVILS !!!!!!

    I remember sitting way up in that second level of bleachers when we played Rayen back in the 80's. At least we don't have to wait another week before the next game, I think that hurt Campbell a little in the 1st half against EP. Devils will pull away in the second half and capture their 3rd title in the last 5 years.;)

    McDonald vs. Ytown Christian........I can see that being the MyWYTV game of the week. Two very good teams from the area. Should be entertaining.

    Sonny, I can remember sitting in the rafters when I was in the 8th grade for some of those contests. My cousin Tony Firmstone took me. And then he almost left me there!!!!!! Completely forgot I was with him. If he would have....I would have a front row seat for this one on Friday as I would have still been there waiting for a ride home. So it's 27 years later, so what. I am sure Go Pens and Quaker Oats would have fed me and taken care of me. SQ Crazies probably would have kicked me when I was sleeping.

    In all seriousness, I hope the Devils can once again grab a district title and then get past that damn first round of regionals. But first things first.

    Yeah, we would have taken care of you --- perhaps filet mignon and fine wine (in a trade for your coach) :). So you were stuck up in the nosebleed section like all the junior high schoolers used to be when the place was quite often filled to the rafters back in the '70's when we entertained the likes of Barberton, Massillon, Reserve and Harding --- good times.

    Good luck to the Devils tomorrow night -- the Quakers are pulling for you.

    The locker room is quite comfy now, showers remodeled, nice tv...Heck there are times I want to move there to avoid paying rent. :) Might have to fight Brock for the remote though...

    A note if you're coming to the game. For a $2 donation, you can park at the First Christian Church on East 6th St. and enter the gym from the 6th Street entrance (it's on the other side of the school from the parking lot where you park now). It should be quicker to get out after the game as well. Just turn at the traffic signal at 6th Street to use this entrance.
