Orrville Girls basketball
-
FlashOrr wins by 5 pts. and seems to have clinched an outright OCC girls basketball championship. Only 1 more game with Ashland to go, so it seems pretty inevitable. Great crowd and atmosphere with a game that came down to the end (last 30 secs) before the outcome was known. Hilary Plybon came up big with an impressive offensive showing along with solid rebounding. Younger sis Hannah was her usual self although Wooster played her close M to M defense to try to take her out of the game. Every time they relaxed in the least she scored.
-
FlashShe had a brace on her right shoulder and wore a shirt as protection from rubbing.
-
CCRollyFirst of all, congrats to the Riders on an OCC Title. Secondly, here's hoping coach Alberts gets that post-season funk turned around for you guys.
-
FlashIt won't be easy. Manchester and Smithville are both good as records indicate. Saturday's game Orrville vs Manchester will be one to feel out the other team and look for weaknesses. Really doesn't mean anything as to who will win the next game which is the important one. Team Pew will be the tough one to beat for either team. One loss early in the year and maturing of some of their players makes them a hard out. The real bummer is the winner of this district has to meet Regina.

Mr. 300Congrats to the Riders on wrapping up the OCC.
Sidenote; 7th grade score from the OCC feel good tournament. WH 79- Orrville-6. Yikes. -
sports time ohio
In Girls there is not much in the 7th and 8th grades coming up I think 7th grade has won o games and the 8th may have won 2. The 6th grade class is suppose to be a lot better. So that score does not surprise me. It is what counts at the HS level like an OCC championship.Mr. 300 wrote: Congrats to the Riders on wrapping up the OCC.

Keep working young Lady Riders. -
RedRider1Clear out that trophy case for middle school championships.
What does the girls program at WH have that the boys don't? Save for the wrestling program, all the success at the high school level comes from vball and girls bball. -
CCRollyMr. 300 is not only excited about hanging a runner-up banner for the Lady Knights this season, but they'll also be able to put up a "Perfect Season 2009-2010: 0-21" Banner for the boys varsity team.

Committment and talent. Of course strong coaching at all levels helps, and the goal of a team and not the individual.
The boys programs, aside from wrestling, are a whole 'nother story that would take hours.
Again, congrats to the Riders on a fine season. -
FlashGood Luck to WH in it's tourney run.

I'm always excited, especially this weekend, as it's another tournament to roll in.
Where is Woo hiding those state championship banners anyhow???? Oh that's right, speech/debate banners. -
CCRollyCongrats on 0-17 last night against Ashland first of all. Secondly, don't be a hater about the Speech/Debate state titles just because you guys aren't smart enough to compete. And finally, we have team state titles in golf and lacrosse. And you of all people should be excited to hear that we've started a bowling team that is a club sport for now, but will be officially sactioned by the OHSAA in a few years. Now if the OHSAA were to start a Cow-Tipping sport, maybe you guys could become a dynasty in something!

riderbbWhen did this become a WH, Wooster post.

CCRollyI'd like to be man enough and congratulate West Holmes on their dismantling of Waynedale and their first win of the season on Saturday. Congrats!
-
Mr. 300
Thanks boy, You'll never reach man status though. Guess we won't be needing that banner after all.CCRolly wrote: I'd like to be man enough and congratulate West Holmes on their dismantling of Waynedale and their first win of the season on Saturday. Congrats!
Now go clean you pocket protector and join your debate team friends. -
RedRider1Yeah, NERD!!!!
-
CCRollyIn all seriousness, what in hades happened to the Lady Riders on Saturday against Manchester?
-
FlashManchester is very good. They had something to prove. It was Senior Day. One of our taller people didn't play due to injury. 22 fouls Orrville- 13 fouls Manchester. Manchester shot very well from the outside and had way more offensive rebounds. They probably should have been the 2 seed. What does this game mean? It means nothing if we win the next game. Am I saying we can win the next game? We got a good look at what they can do if everything goes good.
-
sports time ohioCoach did not give Manchester a very good look as you may have seen, no presses, Aultz would of played if needed, no need to rush her even for the next 2 games. That was the Coaches first "T" in 24 years, that ref was on a mission from the start. If we play Manchester again and they blow us out I will be very surprised. That game did not mean that much to us only in the won-loss column, but I am sure through films and study we will be raedy the next time.
They are a very good team and deserved to win on that day.
Let's go Lady Riders and cut those nets down this Thursday. -
RedRider1Do you cut nets down for anything less than a district title?
Wouldn't it be defacing school property if they did? -

No, this has been talked about for a long time, if the girls win the OCC. -
sports time ohioCoach plans on starting 4 seniors that have not played much with Hannah, since this is Senior night.
Believe me they are on a short leash, there is NO way he wants to share with W.Holmes.
Then Woodridge on Sat. to hopefully end the season @ 18-2, not bad for nobody ever thinking of an OCC championship, but the team and the coaches.
GOOD LUCK LADY RIDERS! -
rrfanI am sure the Beave would put a stop to any fun like cutting nets down!
I like the move of starting your seniors, but you better win. LOL! It is a tough situation.
Good Luck Ladies!
