-
riders1Start off with some Hawks news

majorsparkEast and West meet in two weeks. I am expecting the game to be more competetive this year. Not like the 20 & 30 point blowouts the last couple of years. Hiland by 10+. It would be a shame if the Neer kid did not get to play.
-
THE4RINGZHiland is well represented on this board.
-
Mr. 300Knights return quite a bit from last year. Big up front and probably the best point guard in the OCC. Still young but more experienced. Hiland game will be a good measuring stick for this bunch, and should give them valuable lessons for future games this year.
Gonna wait and make anymore comments on the move-in situation until the OHSAA gives their ruling. -
ricolaanxious to see how the east west game turns out. Agree with major: this will be more competetive than years past, but would be surprised if Hiland doesn't win it.
Haven't heard the latest on the west move in; are there sgnificant chances he wouldn't play?? Hope that's not the case.
Don't know about the Knights, but Hiland will have a very significant schedule upgrade from last year. No Conotton valley, with adding the likes of SVSM, Columbus Brookhaven, with Orrville at the WQKT Classic in Wooster. They should be well tested come tourney time.
Scrimmaging today with St Ignatius and Jackson (N Canton); unsure who else.
Regardless of the outcome, I'm guessing the season may a little more relaxing than last year... -
THE4RINGZ"relaxing"?
-
Mr. 300His son graduated last year. Try to keep up Ringz!
-
FlashNot sure we'll help (Orrville) with the tougher schedule, but it will benefit us to play you.
-
riders1So who will be battling for 2nd in the IVC ? Garaway lost the big guy and I am not sure what Malvern has back, but they have been good lately. Are there any other teams with any heighth?
-
ricolaMalvern brings most back from a nice team last year: they potentially could challenge Hiland.
-
ScotteMalvern brings back a lot from last year--Tucci, Kapron, Ball to name a few-- and seems to be one of the few teams in the league to give Hiland some potential problems. Garaway always seems to be good too, even when it seems they should have a down year.
I'm also excited to see the Knights play this year. They have a lot of young talent and will be fun to watch for the next few years. -
BRFWTG, riders1! Rep to you.

riders1No one from W.Holmes started it up , sooooooooooo

Mr. 300To dang busy......

Malvern will not just be battling for second but first as well. Malverns height matches Hilands. The talent on Hiland and Malvern this year is a lot greater than the rest of the IVC. A split between Hiland and Malvern could mean a dual championship. Hiland plays at Malven Dec 9. Always difficult to play in that little gym. Garaway has the potential to get an upset on the top two. everyone else no.riders1;980253 wrote:So who will be battling for 2nd in the IVC ? Ridgewood's 6'-6" Jones is not playing his senior year because he signed to play DI football at Michigan State. Conotton Valley is gone so their big 6'-6" kid Bailey is gone. So the answer is no. No one will be able to match Hiland and Malverns height.riders1;980253 wrote:Are there any other teams with any heighth? -

Don't forget the regular season capper at North Canton GlenOak. It will be a little reunion for me. My best friend in high school daughter is a cheerleader for GlenOak. We are going meet up for this game. I doubt he has seen Hiland play since graduation (he spent a lot of time in Florida). He was a former point guard for Hiland. We have only gotten together about a half a dozen times since I got married back in '92.ricola;979131 wrote:Hiland will have a very significant schedule upgrade from last year. Wheeling Park was the other team. Heard from a guy at work today that Hiland did well. The won every quarter except one. A narrow loss to Jackson. He mentioned Gingerich has really come along and will be a force in the post.ricola;979131 wrote:Scrimmaging today with St Ignatius and Jackson (N Canton); unsure who else... -
