Awww! Do you even get what he was referring to? Maybe you are naïve. Now I WILL call you a name.....NAME CALLER! Ho ho ho!

    Yes, I know!
    ...do you?

    Oooo...my feelings "aren't hurt"

    LOL!

Winters needs to get more aggressive on both sides of ball, has not been to the foul line yet in either game. For this weekend, I see Orrville getting 2 wins.

On the first part, I give an "amen". On the second part, I'm prayin'.

Hillsdale is tough. I wouldn't put too much into this game either way. Both teams are not at full strength yet, although playing deep into football should be thrown out as both teams did so. I actually can see the Riders beat them by 8+.

It will be which teams "bigs" will win it....both teams have good size.
  • riders1
It will probably come down to the guard play and how they handle the ball and get it to the big men. It would be nice to see someone with an outside shot step up.

Who do you think that could be? I know that Mitchell is a good outside shooter, maybe Perez, too. Wasson is a good outside shooter and if we get the Nigerian, maybe we could move Zach to point guard. ;-)

Mr. Russell you can see Orrville winning by 8+...because? Interested in your take on the game.

I think both teams have a good inside game, with Orriville's being the stronger of the two. But I think Hillsdale has better guards and shooters. Unless I'm way off base I think the game will come down to the wire, but I think Hillsdale's guard play will let them pull out a win of less than 5 pts.

Orrville is 5-0 in the Smitty. It's a big deal to play well in this game.
  • OQB
^^agreed, and we don't like losing to WCAL opponents....
  • RedRider1
My larger point was that we take the honor of playing in a tournament named for Smitty very seriously....or at least we should.

I'm 100% confident that Sly will get the point across that it's a big deal to play well this weekend.

ZagZig, I have seen both teams many times, and I actually think that Hillsdale is the more dangerous tournament team. With that being said, they are a group of guys that are very loose, and I understand it has worked to their success in the past. With that being said, if Orrville pounds the ball down low, they will win the game. If not, and they start taking bad shots, Hillsdale will win. I am not satisfied with how Hillsdale hasn't gotten Crossen involved more this season. The emergence of Licata is great, but they need more out of Crossen to reach their full potential. Hillsdale could easily win this game, but I think that Orrville takes this game very seriously and will rise to the circumstances. I also agree that Hillsdale does have better guards, but I really think this is going to be a low scoring game, lots of fouls and post play.

^^Yea...this one doesn't get out of the 50's.

Good points. I expect it to be a battle, and in my opinion by far the best match up in the classic.

First we need a win. Big game tonight. Go Riders!!!! Reduce the amount of TO's and get it to the bigs spells WIN.
  • BRF
Pre-sale tickets for tonight's game were very low, but the team is primed and ready to get that first win.

    Go Riders!

Here's hoping the Knights can pull off the sweep by beating both the Red Riders girls and boys team IN ORRVILLE. )

Ooops, not today, big guy! Riders get their first W in a hard fought game. The Wasson show. We need to find that outside scoring threat.
