sleeperThis thread wasn't meant to bash any other school. It was only meant to showcase The Ohio State University and the academic and athletic powerhouse it has become.

You do realize (and I don't go to Ohio State) that in the last 10-15 years, Miami has pretty much fallen to mediocrity in most programs, and OSU has improved above it in the same programs, right?like_that;1252829 wrote:This thread is about OSU's academic fall to mediocrity. Stay on topic. Thanks. -

Based on what? Miami being the #2 undergrad in the nation, or the fact Miami is the top public university in Ohio?ohiobucks1;1253690 wrote:You do realize (and I don't go to Ohio State) that in the last 10-15 years, Miami has pretty much fallen to mediocrity in most programs, and OSU has improved above it in the same programs, right? -
Commander of Awesomelol Miami has only been increasing in terms of rank over the past 10 years. Your post literally couldn't be more wrong. lolfail

sleeperThe problem with Ohio State is that it used to be an open enrollment school back when a majority of the older people on this site were applying to college. This put it 70-80 years behind other established universities who cared more about enrolling elitist kids from rich families where Ohio State was educating all varieties of students.
Time's have changed. I truly believe I would not be able to get into Ohio State at this point because it is outstripping even my greatest credentials. Harvard will be known as the Ohio State of the East in 10-15 years as more money and more prestige is granted rightfully to the University. -

I never laughed so hard in my life at this post. It was so damn retarded -

Agreed. I should have said Stanford would be the Ohio State of the West. Harvard is a junk school.Crimson streak;1253702 wrote:I never laughed so hard in my life at this post. It was so damn retarded -

There's no need to apologize. I'm impervious to your insults and recognize the perspective that the insults are coming from.vball10set;1253835 wrote:LOL--what a stupid ass post...my apologies to you, sleeper, for crowning you the clown of this thread--we've got a new jester  -

Insults? Actually, it was constructive criticism, which was, in fact, intended to provide a little perspectivesleeper;1253875 wrote:There's no need to apologize. I'm impervious to your insults and recognize the perspective that the insults are coming from. -

Miami is not the #2 undergrad in the nation
http://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelnoer/2011/08/03/americas-top-colleges/
more like 183rd. Although that same site ranked OSU #188 so I guess that proves Miami > Ohio State...at least til the rankings come out next year -

This says Ohio State is #50 and Miami is #90. I'm not sure where you get #2 -

ohiobucks1That's not best Undergrad Schools.
It's schools that focus on undergrad as compared to grad school, best. They're actually different lol -
vball10set
They're different, sure, but being ranked behind only Dartmouth and Princeton in any category ain't too shabby.....can we agree that we have some excellent schools here in Ohio, and leave it at that?ohiobucks1;1254063 wrote:That's not best Undergrad Schools.

Anyone who buys into the rankings bullshit is delusional. Anyone who thinks Miami, with its 10 million dollar endowment can hold a candle to Ohio State and its vast resources is absolutely delusional and/or a Miami grad.ohiobucks1;1254037 wrote:Miami is not the #2 undergrad in the nation
