I've been to Ohio, west Virginia, Miami oh and penn st. I would say west Virginia is one crazy ass place. Penn st should be top 5 though

I always thought Miami was a very underrated party school. Nice to see them in the top 10.

I heard they have been cracking down lately in Athens.

I can see why Motown got #1....place is fucking lawless.

That is correct. I've never seen a more crazy place. People flipping cars for no reason to throwing shit through people's windows. Those crazy mountain men

Top school in Ohio and the #2 undergrad nationally. Pretty impressive considering their partying ranking.

He already did. I have a hunch the "mod of the day" deleted his post and my rebuttal.

    Morgantown is ridiculous.

They've been "cracking down" in Athens since my sophomore year. It won't effect really drunk people, it will effect really retarded drunk people.

If you're going to whip your dick out and walk home pissing, you're probably going to get caught; whereas, 5 years ago, you probably wouldn't have.

I love going to Morgantown for WVU games. You know you're going to see some ridiculous shit.

Went to the LSU game this past season and at some point someone pulled a dude out of his car and beat the crap out of him in front of his wife and kids. Pretty sure it was LSU fans doing the beating, though. There was also someone shot one of the last times I was there.

I've heard the locals have been getting pissed about the mayhem for the street festivals, Halloween, Palmer fest, etc.

But like you've said...I'm sure they have been bitching for years.

As far as Morgantown. I've never seen a more wild place on gamedays. Absolute chaos, open containers everywhere, zero police presence and when they were around they gave zero fucks. It was amazing.

Only thing I've seen comparable was late 90s-early 2000s OSU, before the Holbrook crackdown.

Yep. I was there in the mid-90s and the locals were bitching about the parties and stuff. Fuck 'em. Without the college, Athens would be just another economically depressed shithole like about everywhere else in that part of the state, so they can deal with it.

It's like that with the school.

They only bitch about the Spring Fests anymore. Halloween has pretty much been brought under control (it's still a huge party, just not a riot) and no one says shit about it

Indeed. They were bitching when I was there from '79 through '83. Not gonna change.

The "townies" complain all the time but Athens leadership and the cops all know where the bread is ultimately buttered. As Heretic pointed out without the university, Athens is just another backwater southeastern Ohio economically depressed Appalachian shit hole.

Besides I'm Ohio alum who also lived in Happy Valley for 10 years and I can tell you that Penn State is far more rowdy the Ohio University. With the exceptions of Spring Fest and Halloween I really never understood where Ohio got its "party school" reputation.

Crap, Miami cracked the top 10. I just dropped my daughter off there last Thursday for freshman move in day. Good thing they don't allow parties in the library.

Miami is not the top school in Ohio. That's where all the rich kids who couldn't get into Ohio State go.

That's terrible. Daddy must not suck up enough. Seriously, Miami is a joke of a school. I wouldn't send my kid there for any reason other than if I wanted them to remain unemployed for the rest of their life.

Miami has always been known as the top school in Ohio, thus why it has always been known as a "public ivy." It is ranked higher than OSU for public universities, it is the #2 undergrad in the nation, and since you only care about business, their business school is ranked higher than OSU. Nice fail though, can't wait to see how you try to spin the facts.

    Enjoy mediocrity!

Don't worry, based on rankings Miami works hard, and plays hard. Your daughter will fit into the culture just fine.
